I haven't ordered yet so I am developing serious internal conflicts over modcan A or B. The A knob is just so tiny!

I was torn between the A & B format as well, but in the end a B-series delay showed up so i took it. I'm glad because as i will be building the system slowly, it therefore integrates with my 1/8" & 1/4" equipment now. Plus, i like the different sized knobs- i agree with dude that when it's in front of you, the visual feedback from the knobs is part of the bigger picture.
In the end, the A series didn't appeal as an 'instrument' to me as much as the B-series did, despite the advantages of banana jacks.

You got Oakley stuff too. I might be asking many questions in the future, dude! I got a couple VCO's on order, but there are many other modules that look good to me too including the superladder.

I definitely agree with the larger knobs. I think I am mostly drawn to the A series because I was able to score a really good deal on a modcan A zeroscillator, and I am really interested in the banana jacks. I recognize that the jacks are more of psychological thing because know I have to think of grounding, and honestly there is nothing wrong with my multiples and 1/8 and 1/4, as far as I can tell!

One of Muff's posts for "noobs" talks about the beauty of modcan, and I had to wonder if he was talking A and B or both. It's so subjective, but damn, the B series really looks freaking awesome.

I'm sitting on my deposit for modan right now with more confusion than ever. That, and I really like the MOTM stuff too.

Truth is, I have my patch MOTM patch panel, and I don't mind buying various power supplies from different vendors since I trust their experience with grounding, shielding, etc. (in general).

I guess it is possible to construct a cool A series and save up for a B series too.

Anyways, I don't mean to hijack the thread topic, but I really enjoyed the miniwave sample, and it's true, I may have knob envy!

ask away, pm me if you want. i will tell you how badass the diode superladder filter is. i dont have any motm modules but i have oakley, stg, modcan and catgirl synth stuff. i love it all...but the miniwave is soooo powerful.

but yeah the superladder diode filter gets opened a bit but some of that sound is just putting simultaneous sine and saw into the filter and just mixing the levels. the diode filter is a heavenly gift in conjunction with the miniwave. a perfect match.

i almost bought a couple roms and then realized that i have put so much into this system that i just cannot afford anything else for a couple moons. perfect timing as the case is full. there is still so much i am going to get but right now i just need to dig in and learn my system MUCH better. time for more patching!
