Eyes crossing here reading the scanned manual flying around on the intertubes - so retyping this bit about the card in relation to the front panel controls:
Control-Voltage - the program card specifications are additive. Any patching will affect the instrument as if it were under the front panel control. Any front panel processing or offset levels are additive to the programming of the card. If an oscillator were card programmed with an offset value of 4 and the front panel offset were at 3, the two values would sum to an effective offset value of 7.
So ok, then if we want to negate from a value on the card, we pretty much need to use that inverter, which we have one of - is that correct?

Edit - assuming a control were at '0' to begin with, which I guess would be where you'd want them to use the preset card as set up...

Edit 2 - and thinking about it more - I guess for some kind of fixed negation through the inverter there would also need to be some kind of offset utility kind of thing which there isn't. Anyway, sorry, I'll shut up now.

Hi Alessandro. I'd love to see you and Charles Cohen play Dueling Easels. Any hope for a Buchla supergroup ? :-))

I'm curious. Got a link?

A modular synthesizer is not a musical instrument; it is a spiritual ham radio.

Eurorack is the sprinkles on the 5U donut.

I've been listening to this one for a few days as well, figured since everyone else is posting clips of the easel... ;) Very very very inspirational Alessandro!! I'm actually curious what the 2 pedals you are using in these vids in conjunction with the easel? Seems like one is a delay... other is a eventide verb maybe? (Oh..I do believe I'm ordering a new easel this week!!!)

Without watching the video, I'm going to guess....

Strymon Blue Sky (Reverb)
Strymon Time Line (Delay)

I preordered a new Easel the day after they were announced. Had been thinking about picking up a Buchla system and well, why not make the plunge?

Alessandro's music has been a big inspiration for me as well. But, I had not seen any of these videos until this evening. Love them! The MakeNoise Shared System set is fantastic.

Oh boy! I'm really looking forward to the new album! Do you plan on doing any more SuONOIO-type devices? I really like mine! Great stuff :tu:

Hmmmm, it asks me to login. Oh well...

Anyway I'll use this opportunity to ask a question. Some in the request thread mentioned wanting a ground plug and I notice that the synovatron CVGT1 and low-gain's banana to 1/8" boxes have ground plugs as well. Not knowing too much about what is involved, do you think the Easel be able to interface well with euro? Mainly sending cv out and patching audio in. Thanks! :tu:

Alessandro, loved the video of the performance at Home Room 1. Lovely musical tapestry from what on the face of it seems like a limited sequence of notes. But that's where the live performance aspect really shines.

The audio quality isn't so great though. Is this piece released anywhere?

Thanks so much for doing this thread!

I have a really superficial question about the visual aesthetics of the new model: I absolutely love the old font of the logo, and don't really like the new one ... any idea if they would consider going back to the old font?

One other question: is the production run expected to be limited?

Thanks!

There's been a bit of talk about how only a few were made, how did you come into yours?

My shot in the dark is inner circle/buchla secret society haha.

are you 8 years old?

Cheers

Yes, certainly. There are audio inputs which can be routed through the LPGs and reverb, and can also be modulated by the mod osc.
