Through a little "weasel deal" and a bit of arm twisting (not really) with Dave Jones, SSL is proud to announce the pending availability of the infamous O'Tool Oscilloscope & Audio Tools module in MU format.
Expecting availability in 6 weeks at a price of $325 US.
The first run will only be for 14 units, but should be more widely available after September.
Any takers?

I just saw the Euro version for the first time in the flesh today. The display is great looking and high-resolution enough to be very useful and practical.
VinceL wrote:Am I correct in assuming that it is the same LCD display as on the Eurorack version? Or is it a bigger display for the bigger format?
I definitely want one, but I just won't have the funds in time for the first batch...funds are already committed for too many other modules.
I take it from your comment that it should be more widely available after September to mean that this will be a regular SSL module offering.
Great job, Doug!
Correct. Same display and PCBs. Understand about the finances. As far as continued availability, I'd say that as long as Dave is gracious enough to keep the electronics coming, I'll likely keep offering it in 5U.

Geez. I guess MOTM version might be my first MOTM module. Stay tuned - I'll see how I can make that work.
Anyone have the dimensions for a 1U MOTM panel? (Not 2U)

ModuleModule is a format developed by EarDrill that fits a few smaller panels (up to four) in a frame that will fit the Buchla form factor. http://www.eardrill.com/modules/ModuleModule/
I would imagine Chris Muir (the man behind Eardrill) could give you the specs. I would think a lot of Buchla guys would love to have a scope in their rigs too.

Will that screen even fit behind that?
Fitting behind shouldn't be a problem. The "standard" panel thickness and "finish" will likely be an issue with my regular MU vendor. Any suggestions on a vendor to produce panels would be appreciated.
Thanks. What about mounting holes? I could likely deduce this, but since I'm not a MOTM rack owner. Maybe I should remedy this. What's a good low cost MOTM rack?

Any idea what Chris' handle is here? Please PM.

Hi Doug!
You might consider just getting 1U MOTM blanks from BrideChamber for $10 and then send them to Front Panel Express to have the other holes and labeling done? Or maybe work with BrideChamber also for a "three way" collaboration?
Every time I start doing a schematic for something I want, someone beats me to it.
Well, I guess that's almost as good. :-)
I'd want it in MU-format though. And don't take that as confirmed; depth matters,
as well as what else I've bought recently and how much stress I'm under.

Doug, if you'd like, I could send you a MOTM blank that you could use for measurements. I got some for a long-forgotten case concept, and they are just sitting in the junk drawer ATM.
