resurrecting this thread to show off DPO noises. I've had DPO serial #47 since the day it was born and it is still making me happy every day. I've never calibrated it once!

Great sounds throughout, Donald -- showing just some of the reasons the DPO is my favorite oscillator!

Awesome stuff. I was tossing around the idea of getting rid of mine to save HP and this made me realize that I have not nearly spent enough time with it. Your falling over camera stand at 7.00 made me laugh. Hopefully it wasn't you passing out.

DPO does lead and bass here

Does the sitar like sound here

There is only one source (with Echophon feeding back often) in this clip, DPO Final Out.

Kick is VCO A (through Optodist), bass is VCO B.

I love the DPO. Its my favourite VCO module in euro.

thanks! yeah it takes a bit to fully explore I think. there's lots of possible ways to the DPO within a given patch. the falling over camera stand was exactly that!! some of these were filmed quite late so I may have passed out at some point, but I think I was just trying to do something fancy

I think DPO is underrated these days.

I love making plucked string sounds with mine and setting rene scale to the Japanese Iwato scale, here's a repetitive loop with some subtle filtered percussion

I was having tuning stability issues with my DPO recently. It felt kind of nasal and imprecise, but of course I couldn't figure out wtf was going on because I was listening to the FINAL output with a bunch of folding applied :D

I switched to the pure sine outputs and, yeah, the tuning was not holding. It was warbling.

The rest of my case was functioning pretty well, except I also noticed my disting was acting funky.

I unplugged a different row and everything perked up.

Turns out the DPO was the first module to demonstrate that my power supply was overloaded.

So, if your DPO can't seem to track or hold a steady pitch.. might be time to upgrade your case

I have a DPO for a few months now and just love it. Here's a short tune with DPO making some pretty doomy-gloomy fuzzed stuff (fuzz coming from my mixer overdriven by DPO :bananaguitar: :deadbanana: ), accompanied by guitar samples from radio music into a LPG and Rings:

Another (well, pretty lengthy)one heavily showcasing the DPO. I love how beefy this can get with ring- and frequency modding VCO B with VCO A running at a fixed frequency one or two octaves below VCO B´s root tuning (starting at about 7:00 minutes in).

:bump:

:hail: all hail the DPO. :hail:

here's a little jam of the DPO doing some raw techno, sequenced by the turing machine's voltages output, going into a simple Laurentide Synthworks VG2 lowpass gate. the range of timbres in this thing are so wide when you stack the two oscillators and mix their waveforms. it's incredible. I can't wait to add in a MA CP3 and R*S VCFS into the mix and try this patch again.

back again, this time with a video of a chilled out session making ample use of the sine waves and final output on the dpo. enjoy :bananaguitar:

Probably one of the DPO's greatest but least impressive features is those mini-knobs for fine tuning the oscillators. They seem to have this sort of perfect torque to them that makes tuning it such a breeze. Easy to take for granted but hard not to appreciate!

I’m thinking of adding one of these, and I prefer to purchase new since used prices are rarely a bargain these days.

Any chance a new run of these will ever be made? Most things that were pandemic affected have at this point had a couple of runs it seems.

Aaaaand just like that they came back in stock, and I snagged one. I need to start wishing out loud for all the other things I want!
