Ooh. Wow, its so bouncy/rubbery sounding. Thanks for the audio only demos. Definitely gives a better impression of the sound. Hmm. I realy wish I could test this along with my CB and HD. I fear I'd want to keep all three though. The HD (temporarily) has to go!

What else is going on here? Rene sequencing? What other modules are in play?

Demo one is DPO+Rene+Optomix+ A-149-1
Demo Two is just Modcan touch sequencer (two channels) + Optomix.
No filters or FX. Well LPG's....
Tried to keep it pure and clean as possible.

Demo 1 is rene sequencer with the A-149 controlling the index, fold, modulation and angle parameters.
Demo 2 is just sequencer and knob turning.

i'm curious-
does "shape" also cause PWM on the square out?

if not, is PWM possible?

That's no LED/les. That's an adjustment/calibration pot/screw/thing.

@ Qu.One

Having an HD, 2x Antis, 2 CBs, and a MBDO... I'm kind of with you.
OTOH, none of those sound like this:

I know the DPO is it's own thing. But IF the bass/fm has a similar
quality, I could make a spot for it. So far, from the online DPO
demos I've heard, I'm not hearing whatever is catching my ear
on that 259 video. Could be the way Dan/Rewire is patching it.

Can't understand why people are dissing the anti oscillator. One of my favourite music devices of all time. For me it's perfect.

I love the AO, but I can understand what raglani is saying about it getting muddy with tons of modulation. I really think that's one of it's unique attributes, when I was comparing modulation (including the same wavefolder) between two dixies and two AOs the other day for a patch I found the AO was much "softer" and smeared sounding. It's very musical for a lot of situations, but it's not as defined.

It sounds like the vactrols in the DPO are causing that same lag/slew when changing FM parameters quickly and it most likely has a cleaner sound because of the ability to have sine folded on the output instead of triangle. Triangle can sound killer being folded but it tends to have a more nasally quality to it than sine sometimes.

The AO is one of my fav oscillators of all time, no doubt about it... but I do wish it at least had a sine output and/or symmetry control for the folder. You also can't really sync it and here you have two options for sync.

What does the X-LOCK jack do on this?

Well I love the limitations, i've never used a wavefolder with symmetry but I almost always manage to get nice things from the AO.

It definitely doesn't take as much FM as others without getting messy, but like mentioned it always does nice things for me within the limitations of it.

It can certainly be complimented by other oscillators and doesn't do everything that I want.

I also find that some complex filtering from multiple filters/LPG with some tuned resonance helps me to manage the treasure seeking.

PS the AO has some lag when changing strong FM and it has no vactrols.

so, the modulation oscillator can only be either in LFO mode, either as a master for soft sync (lock) or hard sync (sync) for principal?
I believe behind the X-LOCK stays some external lock or sync

ok — that was awesome. thanks for sharing!

this might sound sacrilege to some, but i'd love to hear it with non-makenoise stuff as well.
