To be clear: I was appealing for calm from the throng once Peter appeared.vav wrote:I think he was referring to Peter postingrichard wrote:Well if Peter puts these things right, why not be positive about it? Good to know.
I hope that not only the business paradigm changes, but also the quality and make of the modules. The ones I got years ago quickly went on to die on me long ago.
Everybody deserves a second chance in life.
Strong votes of confidence will need to be offered, and theer will be skepticals at first, but if Peter gradually establishes a consistently good reputation, then everybody will benefit.
Welcome back, Peter.

I am pleased to announce that Peter has come good on the agreement and the debt is now paid.
I hope this is the start of better things and that Peter is able to regain some credibility in this arena and be able to continue to provide us all with new ideas and products and a sense of confidence in the industry.

Brilliant news Laurie and well done Peter. I do home everyone Peter owed money too has also been paid.
Now if we can get Cynthia to refund me and the others, or deliver modules paid for, life can get back to enjoying modular synths again.
The furture is looking bright!

This is incredible. Stuff like this is life-changing and incredibly tricky to maneuver through. Congrats not only to Peter for turning his life around, but also to everyone who is out there trying to be fair about it. Nobody was doing him a favor by letting him slide, but we all benefit from seeing it through, fairly, to the end. Kickass!

This is a good thing for the community as a whole. Sure there will be some people that will take longer to forgive and forget - and maybe some of them have every right not to, but that is their choice.
I believe people have the opportunity to redeem themselves. It may not happen right away, and reputations take a long time to mend sometimes but these are respectable steps in the right direction. That, in itself, is honorable. The community may not be ready to forget just yet, and maybe it never will, but it goes a long way towards planting the seeds of forgiveness in the grove of mistrust. Hopefully one day, the branches of these seedlings, through continued redemption, can cast a shadow over the wrongs of the past.

Congrats to Peter, it takes a lot of guts to make things right. You've done that, and you've earned my respect once again. I think many in the community will agree, but as Caustic said, not everyone will feel the same. But know this: You've made it right, and that's a good thing.
And i'll go ahead and play devil's advocate for a moment: Does anyone know of any other debts Peter owes that have not been fulfilled?
I'll be totally honest, i ask partially because i want to support Cev and buy an M15, but i promised myself (and the community) i wouldnt buy any Plan B until all debts were paid.

This is really good news. And I agree, hopefully this will mark the beginning of a new chapter.widgetoz wrote:I am pleased to announce that Peter has come good on the agreement and the debt is now paid.

I knew about this last week but didn't say anything because it isn't my place to. I've been in communication with Peter, and I have to say I have a lot of respect for him making things right.

Hey Everyone...
Yeah, taking care of this felt about as good as anything else I've done in the last four years, that I can assure you. Regarding the other outstanding issues, two of those have requested modules and their information as been forwarded to cEvin for fulfillment. I wanted to wait before submitting this request until Subcon was up to speed. As you can imagine, launching into a global distribution operation takes time to work out. I don't even own a Subcon 15 or 37 yet. As to when this will happen, cEvin took a short performance trip to Russia and comes on the 5th of June, and the address of those individuals will be in his in basket when he returns.
I have also contacted my ex CalArts interns.
cEvin and I have begun discussions on other products and I've been working on two rather huge ideas over the past couple of years. One was the porting of the entire PB line to Serge compatible modules (not panels) and the second a stand alone synth reminiscent of an well known 70's instrument which I should have a working prototype of presented a video demo in the next few months.
I have also completed two new Plan B modules - a ELF panner and a real analog computer subsystem, although direct release of euro products under the Plan B name is doubtful. One thing I've learned through all of this is sticking to things I'm best at - to quote Bruce Willis in Armageddon: 'thinking shit up' - and licensing allows me to do that.
Of all this news however, the most important message I want to get out is thanking you all for the show of support and making me do this right through the process.
best,
P

Seriously, great news. I'm glad things are getting back on track. Those designs were too good to be forgotten, and there are still many Plan B designs that have not been equalled. I only own an M24, but to me, it is the best random source for euro. The articulated triggers coming out of it are insane. So musical.
(I have an incredible random patch going right now based on a M24. Its triggering a Maths which is pinging a QMMG in LPG mode. The QMMG has a CycleboxII going into it that gets it pitch and sync triggered also by the M24 that is just wonderful sounding. Totally would have had a much different feel if I used a Noisering or Wogglebug.)
I say, once everyting is sorted out, I wouldn't be shy with licensing PLan B modules out to others. Despite the past, Plan B modules ALWAYS fly out of the BST forum.

Congrats Peter - I'm so proud of you and it warms my heart to see all the positivity in the scene regarding your fulfillment and return to grace.
It's a hell of a tough road you've had to take to get here, and you've faced an awful lot of criticism and negativity along the way. Not an easy go for anyone - I honestly can't say if I would have weathered the storm that you've been able to. It's takes an enormous amount of self-belief to stick to it and see it out and it's inspiring.
Who doesn't like a happy ending? Good on you for making things right - our scene is far, far better off having you as a part of it, you have an incredible design gift and a mountain of knowledge and experience that we all benefit from through your designs.
I'm so proud and happy for you - and so pleased to see such an awful situation finally resolve.
Well done sir, and thank-you.
