Been using this setup for a few years now. The flight case itself weighs far too much, and I'm close to building a new version that will fit in hand luggage and weigh less.

Updated a few modules since this pic too ...

Really nice! Something like this is exactly what I'm looking for, would it be possible to get some info on the case?

Thanks, it's an old toolbox I had. It's very shallow , especially the lid, so it's hard to squeeze all the modules in. But it's the smallest 9u+1u I've ever seen.

If you want I can measure the interior dimensions, so you can build one yourself or let casebuilder build one for you.

Here's my little euro rig controlled via silent way and lemur:
Image

It's part of a larger ableton setup that looks like this:

The ipad does a row of cvs that i can scale and quantize and three rows of gates. I also play cv and gate from the push. I generally use that to control the braids and the Ipad does everything else. It's a lot of fun.

muffin this looks very similar to what I have in mind for a live setup (modular, ableton, silent way, iPad), but I'll use a monome and arc instead of a push. Can you comment on the Allen & Heath dj controllers you are using? I assume you don't use their sound card but only the controller part, right? For my setup I would probably need a few physical faders and buttons for ableton control as the monome is used for instruments and step sequencers. So, I'd love to hear your comments on what you use the A&H for and what you think about hardware and driver quality. Thanks! :tu:

Haven't taken the MPC out in a while though. Clocking the LDB-1 with some randomly altering clocksorce is so much more fun than midi clock!

The A+H is pretty good. Id like more knobs, but its the only thing out now that is like this. hardware quality is fine. its a little plasticy but seems sturdy enough so far. i like the zip up case it comes with. no drivers needed, plugs right in and works. well at least on mac. don't bother with layers, they are not well implemented. Also there is no editor software to change message types or numbers.

I use it as a dub mixer kind of set up. first 6 channels are for track control, volume, hp, lp, aux send, encoder for repeat/loop. channels 7 + 8 control effects. the buttons beneath each fader i use to turn effects on/off per channel. Basically my first four channels are audio from live, the 5th is a drum rack of plugin synths that i control from push, and 6th is audio from the mini modular/ipad setup.

DIY portable case attempt, a little work in progress (not as nice as a lot
of stuff seen here but I have two left hands):

Image
Cheap suitcase from local hardware store

Image
No drill in this house. Ripped off the original fixed hinges and puched
some new holes.

Image
Separable hinges work rather good, despite really approximative measurements...

Image
Nice 6U frame from clicks&clocks.

Image
wtf?! I finally opted to waive the nut, the frame fits tight anyway.
Used shorter screws and some washers on the outside, seems enough.

Image
That's it for now. I don't even have a PSU transformer to power it up
(neither I have a VCO yet, ahem.)

Anyone have a suggestion for a 9/10u case that is shallow?
