curetronic specs ?

Post by peripatitis »

Hi
i am thinking of building a curetronic system to expand my future retro xs.

However i cannot find any details about their modules .

For example i see a lot of lfo modules but no details of their frequency range.

Also a lot of control modules (tool, switch,clock-dividers etc) don't specify whether they work in ac as well as dc.

Are they compatible with thr rest 5u manufactureres ?

Any curetronic users around that can shed some light ?

thanks for any help :)

so i am guessing, no love for curetronic in the forum :( ?

I would expect that since they seem to be on the cheaper side to be more
widespread.....

I don't know if they've got all that much attention outside of Germany.

Definitely some nice-looking modules, and a more modern aesthetic to the MU format (maybe why people don't tend to mix & match with Curetronic?). They should be totally compatible with Dotcom and other 5U modules.

There's a few posts and threads on here, if you do a search, but not much.

For the technical specs, I suppose you'd have to email Curetronic directly.

Thanks diophantine.
I think i read probably all of the posts here (not more than 4 i think...)

It's there that i read that the guy who makes them isn't comunnicating
that much through email and i thought to ask here.

I guess i could try schneiders..

For me it's the useful modules that triggered my interest (clock dividers, mutli tool etc) .
A lot of manufacturers just don't seem to complete their series with these...

cheers

While I don't own a clock divider, Curetronic told me a few weeks ago how much fun they had feeding a VCO signal into this module and playing with the various suboctaves. This doesn't probably answer your question about AC-coupling.

IIRC the dual CV-LFO (stuffed PCB only) goes up to more than 20kHz.

Basically yes, but some outputs are pretty hot and may require an attenuator. One the other hand these high outputs allow for some interesting effects.

I don't know anything about Curetronic, but a lot of their stuff looks pretty cool, especially the tool series stuff. Using those smaller knobs allows some nice function density (quint LFO :goo: ), but then there are modules like the C805 Dual Sample/Hold just seems to be begging for something more on that panel... :hmm: The Digi-Noise module would be a lot of fun.

I just noticed their DIY gallery:

Peripatitis, I´ve ordered two times from them via email and had no probs. So, dropping a line shouldn´t be wrong. If you get no reply you can approach Schneider anyway.
I don´t know of any issues regarding interconnectivity with other systems. C is offering a Dotcom power adapter for their moduls. I have a handful of their modules here (QintLFO, 100m VCF clone, ClkSeq...) working fine with 5HU & 3HU systems. Hope that helps.
Cheers
Frank
