Shotgun module

Post by kindredlost »

AKA swiss cheese module.

Sometimes referred to as the Bugsy Malone module.

This is a panel I've been using for various DIY projects. It is filling the last 132nd space left in my modular until Bryan Benting finishes the TSS-1 run.

Image

The latest module this panel was used for was the Oakley Deep Equinoxe phase shifter. I made a crummy looking panel today with the milling machine at work. A video will be posted later of the milling fun.

Image

The final panel will be from Ben Marshall at Big Blue Wave. That will actually look great. Here is an FPE preview of what it is supposed to look like. I moved the LED to the center of the jacks and added a switch for inverting the LFO output.

 :hihi: yeah, it does remind me of a roadside sign riddled with buck shot.

The bigger question here is what the heck will you do when your modular is completely filled up, David?? That's one of those bittersweet moments when you screw that last one in, isn't it.

I think the shotgun module would make great blanks! It just needs the cracks printed on to really pull it off.

I am honored that my module will complete your synth (for now?).

Now, if the holes were really made with a shotgun....!

Good news David, the metal is finally here and I've done a quick test which came out even better than the previous metal!
Been caught up in burning dozens of screen stencils lately so I'm really looking forward to some proper etching fun one again...
Your new panel will be a reality soon I promise ;-)

Cheers,
Ben

Could only be improved with finger nail scratches and a little blood splatter on it.

Here is the video of the Oakley Deep Equinoxe panel I engraved.

I think there is a thread in the DIY section about a drill press recommendation. This might be overkill - I dunno.

Silly me. And I thought this was going to be a module with a shotgun in it! Could be useful for when the bass player tries to set his beer down on top of your modular. :deadbanana:

But then, one must ask... How do you use CV to not only trigger/fire the shotgun, modular, but also to reload?

That may well be overkill but the problems I’m having with panel makers at the moment I could sure use one :omg:
