which website was that? (mta connecters)

Post by doofa beena »

Very recently i was very excited to find a website (i think it was a synth-diy) that offered the litttle connectors that nmost 5u makers use to connect jacks'n stuff to the pcb's, in all sizes (2,3,4,5,6) with 6 inch wires already installed.
now i cant find it, ive gone through my browser history and no luck.
i think i may have linked to it from a post here, but cant remember.
i hope it wasnt a dream. :hmm:
anyone know that one?
tnx

I have seen them and bought some at that site. You would want the .1 spacing for Dotcom style and .156 (for MOTM power headers) if I remember right.

I have recently started listing some DIY supplies including the .1 inch preterminated headers. Don't have any .156 tho.

I hope to list some quantities too, like packages of 10, at a reduced price, of course, but I need to make some changes in the storefront to do that. Also the mating board connectors.

you can also DIY. here's the mouser parts for 2/3/4 pin connectors and headers:

4 pin .100 header: 571-6404564 .097ea (100)
4 pin connector (24gauge): 571-3-640441-4 .108ea (100)

3 pin .100 header: 571-6404563 .075ea (100)
3 pin connector (24gauge): 571-3-640441-3 .13ea (100)

2 pin .100 header: 571-6404562 .06ea (100)
2 pin connector (24gauge): 571-3-640441-2 0.07ea (100)

with just 2 and 3 pin, i can make whatever size i need (they fit next to each other).
(i picked up 4 pin just for convenience.)
you will also need the t-shaped mta tool to push the wire down into the connector.
i use the 24 gauge bre bond wire from smallbearelec.com

"Most 5U makers"? Synthesizers.com, MOTM, and Modcan all use different connectors.

I'm famous like Jack Benny for cheap. I actually use six pin headers and cut them down.
