Brought the modular back into the studio after last weekends gig and powered it up so I could do some sound creation. Noticed a strange smell after a few minutes and the 5V light went out on one of the cabinets. (The one with all the sequencers in it.) Killed power and started to open it up and the smoke came welling out. Pulled every module and the power supply and gave them a visual to try and see what was damaged. Nothing looked bad. No obvious burnt components. Checked power supply and it was normal unloaded. Repowered all the modules in tha cabinet one at a time and no further smoke. Put them all on the power supply and turned it on again. It has been running for half an hour with everything happily working that I can check. (Don't know if the Quantizer is working as I don't have it connected to any OSC's at this point.
Guess I'm gonna recase it and see if it does it again. Tough to know what to fix when nothing is even remotely obvious. (The ONLY PCB in the whole thing that has any sort of magic smoke smell is the Q-119)
One of my cabinets just let out it's magic smoke.

It might be hard to see if a component is burnt on the Q119 since the components face the panel. (if I remember correctly)
Best of luck!

Well, I found the damage inside. The power supply shifted during transit and shorted the back of the Q-119 sequencer. The wiring from the PCB to the row one gate is fried. Waiting on an RMA to send it in for service. (Everything else in the cabinet is working flawlessly.)
