Advice on noisy Q104?...

Post by chorus7 »

I need some advice if anyone can help?

I'm running a MacBook Pro with a M-Audio UNO (USB/Midi) into my Q104... When I don't use it and have my .com go direct into my sound card there is no noise but as soon as I attach the USB Uno to the Q104 I get white noise?!?! Now when I wiggle the Midi cord in the 104 socket it goes away for a while then comes back rhythmly?!? ( not random but repeated sequence of white noise )...

I suspect something with grounding? Is there any way to ground or unground the Q104?

Many thanks in advance...

Is your laptop and audio interface grounded?

Last time I checked, everything in my dotcom system was grounded. Laptops and USB/Firewire audio interfaces usually are not grounded.

Some kinda weird ground loop between your synth and audio interface? :hmm:
