Imagine if Thomas Dolby's schtick in 1982 was to wear tweed? I'd be a walking stereotype.7thDanSound wrote:And everyone should be wearing tweed while patching, instead of those labcoats, that's getting so old![]()
Not without modification. It's pretty much a copy of the original circuit. I would love to see a CV input for, say, the centre band frequency.Seems to be a really cool demo! Thanks for posting this nice demo. Is there any way to animate the module with CV's?

I really do appreciate you taking the trouble to do these demos and wish more people put forth the effort...
...but (you could hear that qualifier a mile away, couldn't you?) you really do need to work on recording the audio separately and then merging it back with the video...camera mics are just hideously, horrendously, incomprehensibly bad!
...this does not make you a bad person...
I'm pretty sure any movie editor (even programs that ship with most laptop OS) would allow you to drop an audio track on your video. Not as neat and easy as recording from camera and uploadind directly to Utube but, surly it can't be too difficult.
**realizes that, given Microsoft can't even build a brouser that doesn't mangle zip files, his last statement could be wildly off base**

No offense taken. In fact I 100% agree with you, because I'm not happy with the audio quality. Even if the mic were of an acceptable grade the room acoustics, the shitty speakers, and my inability to position the camera to capture those speakers accurately would all conspire to yield a less than stellar result.emdot_ambient wrote:I really do appreciate you taking the trouble to do these demos and wish more people put forth the effort...

...but (you could hear that qualifier a mile away, couldn't you?) I'm stupendously incapable of coming to grips with merging audio and video together. I absolutely refuse to record audio on a computer. Every time I've tried its been an exercise in frustration. Instead I have a little sketchpad Tascam unit that does yeoman duty, but which I'm not too au fait with when it comes to transferring or editing files. Throw video editing into the mix and it's a recipe for me wishing Canadian firearms statutes weren't as strict as they presently are.
As an aside: I don't know why, but I can't get to grips with using a computer for many things. I can't even stare at menus on synths anymore. A decade ago I could sit there and program my Wavestation or even a TX81Z and not be the least bit troubled by it. Now if I can't just reach up and grab a knob or press a single button I don't want to be bothered with it. I have literally no patience for non-user friendly interfaces (so it's no surprise I have my A3000 and TG77 up for sale and why I bought a Mono/Poly and expanded my Dotcom recently).
That's why I've been looking for a camera that has a 1/8" or 1/4" input on it. It won't be as good as a dedicated audio unit. But it'll be miles better than my current setup. And it'll be a "one-stop-shop" for recording.

What is your budget like for a camera? I've been looking around quite a bit lately for a video camera. I just pulled the trigger on a new one last night.Christopher Winkels wrote: . . . Sure, I have my lovely Nikon D300S DSLR that I have been using for my YouTube videos for the last year and a half or so but . . .the 5 minute shooting limit has been painful at times. I'll still use the D300S for special effects and as a 'second' camera (and for still shots of course).
I didn't get what I REALLY wanted since . . . that would have been around $3000

For months I bounced back and forth between $400 and $3500 cameras . . . and nothing . . . but last night I stayed up late enough to fall far enough out of touch with financial reality

So, new and improved video (I hope) coming to a JLR video near you soon!

I actually don't have a budget in mind. Although I usually love and embrace the ethos of "buy the best you can afford" I simply don't have a lot to use for a video camera other than making synth flicks. Well, cat videos too.
I'm looking to do this one on the cheap, which is not exactly the best place to begin from, I know.
