My goal this year is to finish my first synth panel (the panel arrived yesterday and I spent nearly 6 continuous hours just screwing in the hardware just to see what it will really look like--the pots are the wrong values but everything else is probably OK with a few exceptions), and then to complete the second very similar panel, and one 2U panel to complete my first 12U EWI Tourcase....
oh....and buy a new camera, as mine really, really blows!
Here's the first panel with all the hardware except 8 3mm LEDs (2 for each Bus line and 4 for the VCEG):
And here it is in its case...this was a test to make sure I hadn't put some components too close to the mounting rails. No problemo!
From left to right the components (PCB mounting bracket and all wiring yet to be done) are:
2 CV/Gate/Trig/Glide bus lines
VCO1 (CEM 3340 based on a PAiA modified by Digisound design, plus Sine shaper)
4:1 Mixer (CSG04 DC Mixer, normalized to mix VCO1's wave forms)
VCO2 (as above but with a Ramp shaper instead of Sine)
4:1 Mixer (as above, except normalized to mix VCO2)
VCF1 & VCF2 (CEM 3320, PAiA design modified so each pole can switch between Lo, All and Hi pass)
Multiple (below the VCF section)
VCEG (CEM3310, PAiA design with CV for Sustain added)
ADSR (CEM3310, PAiA without the CV part)
VCA1 & VCA2 (CEM 3330 dual VCA, PAiA design, modified only with switches to select AC/DC and Exp/Lin)
Extensive normalization will be used behind the panel, but switched jacks are being used so all that can be bypassed. And each module has switches to select between routing of the 2 Bus lines.
The 2 glide circuits only work with the 2 CV Bus line inputs. Didn't have room for in/out jacks for them so if they're to be used, I'll have to use the CV ins on the Bus lines.
The second panel might be identical to this, or I might replace the VCF sectin with some LPG or VCLFO modules.
The third panel, a 2U high one, will have 1 Yusynth Noise/S&H, 2 Barton Musical Circuits Simple Quantizers, 2 LFO (well, one CGS Utility LFO), and 2 Ring Modulators (one Fonik VC RM and one CGS RRM).
