Re: Disting_EX_Editor (Final release TouchOSC)

Hi everyone, I open this new thread as a continuation of the old one:

viewtopic.php?t=257083&start=125

Here there will no longer be templates and updates scattered around the various posts but it will always be enough to open the link on the first post and you will be redirected to the Patchstorage site where you will find the latest version of the editor.

Here you will also find other alternative templates that I created.

I remind you that my templates are free, but receiving support for the development of the editor or even a simple donation can help to improve this project that has been going on for almost a year.

Good fun!

;)

Looks like the link isn't working-- just takes me to a general page. Do you have the link and the instructions for setup?
Wait.... I'm still sorting out a few things!

I’d suggest renaming this post with “latest release” rather than “final release”. Just so it’s clearer that you’re not calling it quits!

Anyway I uploaded the patch, try it and let me know if you like it!

More updates will follow...

Advice to those who use this editor... from the disting EX:

1. Activate the "Midi Parameters" to display on the EX disting the parameter you are manipulating from the editor!

go up:
Menu/Settings/MIDI-I2C page 1/Show MIDI parameter/set "1"

2. Activate option 3 in "send CCs" the parameters will also update in the editor!

go up:
Menu/Settings/MIDI-I2C page 1/Send CCs/set "3 Both"

3. If you want and see that it doesn't give you any more problems, you can now activate the soft thru!

go up:
Menu/Settings/MIDI-I2C page 1/Soft thru/set "1 to MIDI"!!!

These are the parameters that must be present on your EX disting:

- Attenuverter 1-6, from CC#1 to CC#6
From parameter 7 to 64, the CCs range from CC#7 to CC#64
(these change automatically by selecting "default first CC" and restarting the disting EX)
- Set the "default first CC" to 7.
- Set "CC Select Algorithm" to 127.
- The midi channel in single mode remains 1.
- The midi channel in dual mode can be set from 1 to 16, but better to start from channel 2.
- The Sysex Device ID is 0.

Good fun!

On the Editor, I recommend disabling an algorithm before activating another!

Hi, v1.18.1 installed on Disting EX. Default mappings in place. MIDI connects fine. I'm able to connect but the controls for Augustus are all messed up. For example Feedback controls R-R Time.
Help...

Impossible! The editor I tested it too many times! You should show me an image with the messages you send!

On Patchstorage the latest version loaded is 1.18.1 which follows the new firmware of the Disting EX.

You will also find:

- An editor only for Disting Mk4 with firmware 4.24

- The various templates of the individual algorithms of the Disting EX that can be modified and improved as you wish, which you can also share again

- A lighter and simpler Editor than the Disting EX but with the feature of selecting multiple MIDI channels and therefore driving several Disting EX

Good fun!

I'm trying to understand. I restart TouchOSC and sometimes it works, other times it doesn't. Sometimes it won't change algorithms although if I'm in the same algo then it works. This is all intermittent.
I'll get back with more later.

I've reset the Disting. Now there are some things I'd like to know. In Augustus, The feedback is 100% at mid fader. Is this a setting in the Disting ? How can this be scaled to use the full fader?

Is that the case in your setup ? Or do you have full fader for feedback in Augustus ?

hal9k you're the man!

:sb: :sb: :sb: i am rockin so far, but now i've run into the main problem i was fearing / expecting to encounter as soon as i tried to use it..

TL;DR: i guess what i'm asking is "how do i get a second Disting EX to respond over select bus, since that second module is not physically connected to the midi breakout?"

fixed: i had the jumpers on backs of both EX modules set to CV rather than select bus. switched jumpers to use select bus and was immediately in business.

Try setting the First Disting to output Midi on the SelectBus and the 2nd to Listen for Midi on the SelectBus. Under Settings.

i got it working.. it was the jumpers on the backs of the modules. i had them both set to CV rather than Select Bus, from previous attempts at getting it to work prior to this new template coming out..

so my distingEX #1, which is hooked directly to the midi breakout, now works in both single AND dual mode, using channel 1 for single mode, and channels 1 & 2 for dual mode (killer!).. my distingEX #2, which is on select bus, is only controllable with TouchOSC in DUAL mode (set to channels 3 & 4), since the template for single mode still needs to be on channel 1 in order to control single mode.. so my ONLY suggestion / wish for a future version of this would be the ability to select the midi channel that SINGLE mode is using. in my case, since i have two EX's, i just need to be able to get the single mode on my second EX to respond to any channel other than channel 1..

even so.. persnickety observations aside..

i feel like one of the kids that just found the hidden pirates' treasure ship in the Goonies movie.. this makes the EX multitudes more AWESOME than it already was.. holy cow.

edit: updated progress, tried to make it "clear" so other wigglers might find this if this scenario helps them too

This is what I get with the fader... A little out of the ordinary but it's fine for me!

I look forward to it! Unfortunately just when you released the new Editor, I won’t have access to my Disting EX for the next week. Irony!
