Euro Journeyman Resistor query

Post by Pav »

Hi Tony (and fellow Oakley afficionados)
just completing the JourneyMan pot board for the euro version and blow me down
I am missing from my stock the single 150R 0805 needed for R8.
I examined the Schematic and it looks like its job is to tie the pins to 0v when the switch is open, ensuring a trickle current.
I always like to try and think i have learnt something building all these modules, but please correct my guesswork.

Anyway question is will a 120 R or 220 R be ok here?

Either will work. However, R21, along with R25, set the signal level going into the high pass filter input. The ratio of R21 and R20 set the difference in volume between the high pass and low pass functions of the filter. As the high pass filter has twice the apparent pass band (the bit that isn't filtered) gain, it is necessary to have a lower signal at the high pass input compared to the low pass input to keep the volume level similar between the two functions.

Raising R21 to 220R will make the HP function louder than the LP. Making R21 120R will be closer, but it may be a little quieter in HP mode than desired.
