hey everyone
this is my first post in the video forum. wanted to share this video with you guys. just a demo of this modular synth/video-mapping project I have been working on with my partner. visual hardware used was: Minigorille Geometry synth, Gieskes Oscillitoscope and a video mixer effects processor. there is some computerized stuff in there but the final version will be real-time av interaction.

That's really impressive stuff. How are the visuals mapped to the 3D object? With the Minigorille?czern wrote:hey everyone

Cool 3D ribbon effect using the LZX. I had achieved a similar effect awhile back but I forgot the patch until today.
This basic patch can be run through all kinds of modules for different effects heres the basic effect.
If anyones interested I can post a how to in the video demos thread and wiggle with it a bit more using TVMF etc...

whoa! I'm very interested in how you made this. I've been kind of hungry for looking at some cool new stuff in the forums and you definitely just killed it.samn wrote:Cool 3D ribbon effect using the LZX. I had achieved a similar effect awhile back but I forgot the patch until today.

btw, I'm a friend of evan shamoon's in the LA area and new to video synths. big admirer of your work!
Hey thanks! I will post the patch in the demo thread. Meet up at the next ghosting. Evan is always there and I am usually in the back jamming with a few other synth nerds.superphamicom wrote:whoa! Video for Buffered Multiple

Video Synthesis using a Gieskes Oscillatoscope1c and a light table with a B/W print of the logo from the band "Buffered Multiple", the Oscillatoscope1c receives the audio track and is triggered by 4 steps from the Technosaurus Cyclodon sequencer synced to the midiclock from Logic, the B/W print is on the light table and then filmed with a Sony DCR-HC90E Handycam and mixed with the Oscillatoscope1c on an Edirol V-4 using addidional wipe effects, then recorded from the monitor with a Canon Eos 5D

A friend's cat video played on a P10 and processed by the Sequencer/Quantizer and VC with the upper and lower thresholds slowly modulated by a pair of VWGs. The mirror effect and editing was added in post.
The pre-mirror video is also available. That was a basic attempt to better understand the Sequencer/Quantizer. I'm not sure how well I succeeded.
I applied a simpler patch, without modulation, to another friend's video if you're looking for simple Seq/Quant demos.

Realized I hadn't posted anything in here, so here's something.
This is a compilation of a bunch of clips from some of my many old analog video devices. These were mostly created using video feedback and glitching back and forth between about three video mixers and some simpler devices like sync boxes and things like signal booster circuits. No computers were involved in the creation of the individual clips, nor color correction once the clips were captured.
