I love a happy ending. So rare in thefts.

That's great indeed! And it redeems some of the bad feeling that must have built up. Which is worth a lot more than one may think.

@yhf Police finally got in touch this morning. I told them they can close the case as the module has been returned.
@auditorycanvas - there is that. I'm betting that they'll take the TV and Switches before going for the more difficult stuff. I need to more the upright piano, so they help with that one!
@maudibe - thank you. I have a portable rig for gigging though not doing much of that at the moment.
@bemushroomed - precisely!
@naenyn - just said that there were only a couple in the country being sold by one specific retailer and required specialist kit/psu to make it work. So very little use to anyone. Furthermore, even though a lot of my neighbours have been complaining about these guys, I've always said 'hello' to them when passing in the street. It's an unfortunate situation but should still be humane. So in the end I hope it was a combination of things. I've rarely ever experienced anything that's been stolen to be returned, so I'm just going to take the win!

Thank you all.

I spoke with neighbourhood watch today and it turns out that they even told the police who stole it and where they lived. Needless to say the police didn't act upon the information. Anyway, it was a bit of a long shot but I had a respectful chat woth two individuals who knew the person who stole the package. By 6:30PM this evening the module was on my doorstep and returned! I've had it plumbed in for the last few hours and apart from the smell of smoke, all is working well. So, could have gone very wrong.

Happy for the return, not happy about the thieves!
That's amazing, it wouldn't even have crossed my mind this was an option. Do you belong to the scheme?
I'm impressed, that result is totally unhoped for

Happy wiggling, and keep the rig bolted down - or of course, just make it so huge that it can't be lifted (my own solution). :goo:

Excellent advice! :hihi:

@warphead - here's looking forward to a better 2021!
@coomby - no not a member of the scheme. I did get a bit more info that was a bit disappointing. Apparently some of my neighbours witnessed it. They told NW that they didn't realise until ti was too late. Also another neighbour has CCTV pointing directly at where this would have happened but that they refused to let Police view the video. So something of a mixed bag of responses. In the end, the module is back, works really well and clearly ging to keep me busy for a while!
@tonefloat01 - something I'm working towards!

Doesn't surprise me at all. But it still grinds my gears everytime I read of something like that :confused:
Glad you got your module back tho!

Wow, that's impressive. I'm trying hard not to ask how you got hold of those "individuals". Good going, and also fuck tha police, it seems (though the last 10 years of cuts means that they rarely turn out for anything less than actual murder).

I'm glad that you got your module back without harm to it or you.

@luap - I hear you. Does seem a shame but also that the theft was observed. That bit really gets me. I guess we're on our own.
@kattefjaes - I'm not sure I can make much claim to being a diplomat. Whilst the petty crime can be traced to a very small minority, I've actually never gone out of my way to have a go at them. Always been cordial. However I do think the uselessness of the module in any resale I like to think acted as a motivator. It's not like a camera or flat screen TV etc. I'm sure there's a comedy sketch in there!
