OXI Pipe confirmed and more news to come!

Great news! For the Pipe module itself, will it be a powered module with buffers etc or just a passive straight through connection from the HDMI socket to the jacks? Also any word if it'll be available as a DIY kit/panel&PCB set?

yikes - 10 pages! (I suppose that's very good that there is discussion about this). A search in this subforum didn't bring up anything, so please forgive me if it's already been mentioned.

I just have encountered the fact that (apparently) no current hardware midi sequencer does MPE. Now (i'm not that technically versed), I'd think that all a sequencer would need to be able to do is to record all midi events in multiple channels, and then play them back on the same channels.

Is the One going to have that? I can live without it, but I had presupposed that the pyramid could do this, but it can't (pyramid is very flexible with recording midi events, but can't do this, though it can with 1 track per channel. But that will probably lead me away from using the pyramid for that.

I’m pretty sure the Linnstrument has a step sequencer and is MPE.
But the Oxi doesn’t have MPE, sadly at this point it doesn’t even have velocity sensitive pads. :(

Thanks! I’m so curious about these. Been on the Cirklon list for ages and ain’t holding my breath. Always wondered about the Pyramid as well, but never tried one. For now, I just sequence midi from my Octatrack, which doesn’t exactly suck

Looking at the Knobula Poly Cinematic and thinking about it in combination with the chord mode of the OXI…

One question: will OXI send Mod Wheel CCs in a way that allows you to program it into the Poly Cinematic’s chord memory? I realize the OXI has a much better chord sequencer than the basic functionality contained on the Poly, but it would be nice to be able to program the chords in and then just address them with CVs (also cuts out clock issues from running multiple sequencers).

Haha, nice to see another Osmose customer, I got in on the preorder too. However I ended up getting my deposit back and started a Eurorack with the money (ok, plus quite a bit extra, but it got me the case and power).

Now, what about that Oxi One? I’m guessing it’s getting close to shipping, any updates to share?

Hi everyone, We’re sorry not having followed up this discussion.
We’ve just posted a new update on the indiegogo campaign page. The summary is we have everything ready for production but some missing components lime pcbs have made impossible to start yet. Anyway we’re really close and we will probably have the electronic boards assembled next month, which is a critical part.

On the other hand we have a video showcasing the production design and the OXI Pipe in action!

You can send many CCs at once. Things like configuring the cc curves and renaming the ccs will be possible soon also.
In the last video the chords are being played by a eurorack poly synth prototyped by us. 8 independent voices with different synth engines, some of them based on plaits. Chorus, noise, stereo spread are some of the additional features. It makes a killer combo with OXI One.

The module is quite immature yet but it's working pretty well already to easily play nice sounding chords in the rack!!

Nice video, and thanks for the update! I saw there was an issue with the cases, which won't arrive with you until after shipping of the units. To be honest, i'm ok to wait for my shipping until the cases are there, saves on postage costs, another few weeks is no big deal. I'm definitely excited to try out he OxiOne and see what it can do.

Received my unit and I can report the build quality far exceeded my expectations. Still need to dive deeper, but this could be the sequencer of all sequencers. I still like using sequencers in my rack as well (nerdseq, Metropolix, etc), but as far as external sequencers go - this thing is amazing.

There are trigger conditions as well as skip chance, trigger probability modulation (internal lfo and external cv), trigger randomization. And I think that’s all for now
