Detroit Modular also taking preorders, and think they allow using the 10% off 4th of July discount on preorders. Have not tried it to confirm.onthebandwagon wrote: ↑Thu Jul 02, 2020 7:48 pm Sweetwater has the preorder page up now for anyone who is interested.

Re: Dreadbox - Typhon
The ones bought via dreadbox ship on the 20th, has anyone seen a date for when retailers are receiving theirs?
I slapped butter all over keys, knobs, cords, smeared screens with Coleslaw, pelted with Reese's Pieces, broke a Twix in half, stuck in... and after... I swung them all over above my head, pirouetted on their corners on top of a shaky rattan diner table spun like tops, but made sure nothing dropped. Toasted coconut n tested for salmonella were found in surprising places weeks after. I had so much fun.

FWIW, the Detroit Mod site now says “for mid July delivery”, but would suggest calling them late next week to see if they have received any updated info from Dreadbox. Doubt retailers know exact date they will arrive yet.

I sure hope this is true! I'd also love to see a source though; nothing personal, I hope you understand.

When Larry calls I go inside the bathroom or a closet so my girlfriend doesn’t hear what we’re talking about. Have you looked through your yearbooks? Maybe Grant was in fact that kid who sat behind you in music theory.jdaddyaz wrote: ↑Wed Jul 08, 2020 12:42 amI wonder if I can get them to some how compete for my affectiononthebandwagon wrote: ↑Mon Jul 06, 2020 7:37 pm Larry. When Grant calls to update me on something, you'd swear we'd been friends since high school.

Re: Dreadbox - Typhon
Seems dreadbox are shipping this thing early. Just had the following message, all great news.
"Even though Typhon was destined to be delivered on the 20th of July, we managed to finish the product earlier and we decided to send it to you.
Please note that some features will be updated on 20th-21st of July, so please keep an eye on for a firmware update at that time.
Here is a short list of what the update will manage:
– Midi out activation
– Sequencer record enable
– Sequencer transpose enable
– Minor bug fixes
– Computer software to manage presets v1.0 release
– Velocity handling improved"

Re: Dreadbox - Typhon
Typhon has arrive this morning, it's fucking wonderful. Init patch to full acid nonsense in around 5-10 mins
It's built like a tank, the effects are really really high quality, the reverb is superb. I've not messed with the sequencer yet, been using my digitone so far. Front panel controls are solid and chunky, very well implemented and strike a nice balance of range vs usability. The Filter is very warm, envelopes are super snappy. adjusing modulation tracks and fx is actually really easy. I love it.

Re: Dreadbox - Typhon
This is good news; mine arrived last week, and while it sounds amazing and the sequencer offers all manner of fun tricks, as does the plentiful modulation, the lack of MIDI out and sync makes running sequences in time with other devices impossible for now. Roll on late July!MossGarden wrote: ↑Thu Jul 09, 2020 10:07 am Seems dreadbox are shipping this thing early. Just had the following message, all great news.

Re: Dreadbox - Typhon
The manual, for anyone interested, needs to be accessed from the Typhon page at Dreadbox. I couldn;t get the direct link above to work myself.

Re: Dreadbox - Typhon
From the manual, regarding the mod sequencers' behavior...
"The (mod) step sequencer continuously runs in the background, but restarts with every new note trigger, or every time you press the play button…
Is there a way to have the mod seq(s) run freely, and not restart with every new note trigger coming out of the note sequencer?

Re: Dreadbox - Typhon
Might be worth dropping Dreadbox an email, Sonicstate were saying they were still working on firmware, so if there are extra bits you'd like.. might be worth putting in a request with them?

Re: Dreadbox - Typhon
Thanks, I messaged them on Instagram. They read it.
I am hopeful other people can communicate these wishes as it’d be a great way to blow open the mod seqs’ capabilities.
Ordered mine a few days ago from Detroit Modular. Well, pre-ordered, at least.

Re: Dreadbox - Typhon
Without those updates it already seemed like a lot of value for the price.
