Droooooooo's synth cues thing. Thread.

Post by drooo »

EDIT--Halloween is over...
making it easier to find this stuff in one or two places--
http://soundcloud.com/drooo-1 to listen to these things,
Or www.droomusic.com for downloads to throw on your iPods!

I've already thrown this up on Facebook and at Matrix, but for those who haven't seen the patch and heard the cue, here it is.
http://matrixsynth.blogspot.com/2010/09 ... liens.html

It's done with just the large synth in middle of the picture, pure analog content.

That is scary good!!

Seriously, that reminds me of what would happen if Tomita went to school to learn how to program a synth. Very nicely done. Exceptional in every way.

Well, the day job is scoring cartoons (see www.drewneumann.com for more boring details, or www.droomusic.com for more sample driven things I've done)
but the thing that got me interested in doing this for a living was the synthesizer, starting with Carlos' SOB in 1968 and really ramping up my interest in the early 70's with her amazing score for "A Clockwork Orange." A few years later, I remember sitting in my dorm room in 1979 listening to Tomita and thinking "this guy does THIS for a living..." Bermuda Triangle still amazes me.

I have more stuff planned...I am not a purist, so it won't all be pure analog. I like to mix it up. The cool thing about working in cartoons is that you are deliberately asked to do things in different styles--most recording artists don't have that luxury.

I am on Facebook too, if you want to find me there.
PAULTS--you finally have the Knob Grotto Demo. More on the way. Anyone who wants the hi-res MP3, email me via the website and I will send it.

Thankyouthankyouthankyou, I'll be here all week, please enjoy the buffet!

More stuff in the works. I had to take a break to fix the Euro system (Doepfer power bus got crackly) but it's working.

Superb!!
Another 5U guy who uses DP, too.
It's funny I was just thinking yesterday about composing a multi-part fairly complex piece in DP and then doing a modular improv on it. Great inspiration!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

John L Rice suggested I do something for St. Paddy's--okay, I ran out of time with a lot of things going on, and it's very short, but here it is--"Leprechauns In Space!"
