Cwejman, Doepfer, Erica, MakeNoise, Mutable Instruments, TipTop Audio, Analogue Solutions, and much more! The world’s most popular format.
Be sure to look into OFFICIAL COMPANY FORA as well.
and now my PPs (s/n 002 and s/n 003) are going to get a Brain. and it will turn them into 24 steps with a touch clock (ohgodohgodohgodyesyesyesyes!!!!!!!)
hmmm... if I owned a small 200e or STS-panel setup right now, i could even see myself selling it in order to finance an awesome, rockin' Makenoise Eurorack System
this is so much much better than "dragon chasing" (as some folks describe the process of building a euro modular).
this isn't gear lust--this is gear joy!!!!!!!

i think you need five for it to work correctly
BRAINS ships with ALL necessary cables for expansion to either 1 or 2 Pressure Points.
The CHAIN cable is only needed for CHAINing 2 or more Pressure Points WITHOUT a BRAINS.
Cheers,
Tony
So just to be clear, with the chain cable and a Brains, it's possible to use 4 PP's with Brains
No, the CHAIN cable as a Pressure Points accessory has nothing to do with BRAINS. The CHAIN connector (on backside of the Pressure Points PCB) IS used for expansion with BRAINS when 2 Pressure Points are CHAINED to create an 8 stage sequencer, but the cable needed do that is included with BRAINS.
If you want to make a 16 key controller out of 4 Pressure Points, grab a CHAIN cable. If you want to expand the capabilities of one or two Pressure Points to include sequencing, get a BRAINS.
Maximum number Pressure Points that may be expanded with BRAINS is 2, minimum number is 1.
You will be surprised how useful the 4 stage sequencer is... I know I was.

I have to say, I'm really disappointed by the lack of support for four Pressure Points with Brains. I bought four as I was led to believe via the website that with the chain cable and the "forthcoming Points expander" I'd have a 16 step sequencer, and was so fucking excited. May I ask why the expander won't work with four, and are there any plans for another expander that would allow 16 channel sequencing for the pressure points. It's sooo close to being perfect!

The counters he is using probably don't go that high. Also, the thing is 4hp, I'm sure space/cost is a concern

I think by "led to believe" you mean "assumed" because I don't recall ever reading that 16 steps would be possible. In fact, Tony has always been clear about the functionality of the expander being limited to two Pressure Points modules.
That being said, I agree it would be cool to have the 16 steps.
Just want to be sure we are not accusing anyone here

Oh, not accusing at all, just going by what I gathered from reading the description on the website.
well you could always get a serge tkb and some format jumblers (caveat--be prepared for a bit of $ticker $hock with the tkb)... or sell/trade 2 of your ppts... or maybe just get *2* brains!

just get 2 brains and a 150/151 combo and you should be set for 16 steps if I'm not mistaken. you'll probably need a mult or 2 as well. I imagine most people won't be trying to connect 4 PP, so the added cost to implement such a function was left out of the BRAINS
Ok, just ordered Brains, a 2nd PP, chain cable, and a151
Once it gets here I'm going to be selling my z8000. This setup takes up the same amount of space and the possibilities excite me much more. Only going to lose a little bit of money on the swap out

Z8000 and A151 make good friends too 8_) The Z8000 sequencers can all be clocked, directed and reset independently. Quite a different concept and I think the two concepts complement each other really well.

Yes, cool in concept, but it never clicked for me. Nothing against the module, lots of people here love it, but I'm more inspired by this Makenoise arrangement.
fucking ups motherfuckers are fucking delivering the fucking thing on fucking monday. xod fucking damnit. stupid motherfuckers. how the fuck does it take so fucking long to get up the fucking coast.
Haha, gotta edit this post. I was looking at the wrong month on the calendar and thought "August 2nd" delivery was next Thursday. I GOT REAL EMO FOR A SEC.

right-on Mans!!!
i'm keeping my z8000 big-time here. the thought of warping clock signals with finger pressure, so that you play can a rubato (variable tempo) group of sequences playing against a steady-tempo set of sequences on z8k has me dreaming of awesomely BIG & breathtaking musical possibilities.
and just think of the noiserings and wobblebugs... *everything* in your system with a clock input... jeezus this thing is going to be totally f'ing fascinating & fun!!!!!!
i have a feeling that pressure points with brains is going to be a control subsytem like no other...('cept maybe tkb in some ways ). it's like it inserts *you* into your modular system...
can't wait to hear what this thing can do!!!!!!!

That's the spirit!
I was pleasantly surprised to find tracking information that revealed the scheduled delivery date to be this Friday. UPS are still shit though
