That's the spirit! :sb:

I was pleasantly surprised to find tracking information that revealed the scheduled delivery date to be this Friday.
UPS are still shit though[/sizehttps://www.muffwiggler.com/forum/images/smiles/nuke.gif]

mine (a-151 and brains) arrive on friday as well :sb:

:soapbox: btw, i'm all for swear words when i'm not writing, however crudely, in the style of jd saldinger  -- imitating henry miller is a bit more of a challenge, but one that maybe i'll be up for someday if i ever get as good at writing that way as dude, that is  -- and fwiw i'll start abbreviating the word fucking as FFFing (which also refers to "fortzando" in musical notation and either a song or an album by firehose from somewhat long ago that i liked almost as much as 'raging full on' which ruled then and still does / maybe 'flying the flannel' was the album... ... none of which offends n7 here really, tho he sincerely hopes everyone keeps their fingers and other modular-pertinent body parts safe & intact if people really do indulge in that shit!!!).

anways, this friday is going to be a massive, epic BRAINFUCK!!!!!!

cuz one brain is the module, the other brain is *yours*

thank's dude -- i only had it up temporarily, just in case
anyone was wondering who AF was -- her quotation below (from
when she was interviewed along with Condoleeza Rice just before
their performance together in philly the other night) really, really moves me

NEVER! It's not my video. I will take this chance to encourage everyone to come over to Vimeo where we have a Muffwiggler's Group set up for sharing demos and other vids. Yeah, I work for Vimeo, but I also think IT TRULY IS THE BEST. We focus on making it rad.

I know dude is avoiding joining because he thinks his camera is not good enough, but we're really not snobs! I'd love to see more folks over there.

Thinking about getting a set of PP and brain but wanted to ask a couple of things first as I'm thick. I have a shit ton of sequencers already so whats special about this? convice me :)

Here's what I understand:
The brains and 1xPP combo will basically give a 3 channel 4 step sequencer, and touch plate panel without the brain. What I dont understand is how the touchplate affects the output. From what I can read on the webpage it just holds the sequence at that particular step. Can you for instance momentarily touch 2 plates and depending on which you touch first and gap between pads sets the amount of steps and direction of play? so for instance if you pressed and held pad 4 then pressed pad 2 and let go of both it would play a 3 step sequence backwards?

Oh hey great, a Muffs group on the Vimeo. I'm in. I see emergencyofstate has a group there as well.
I got all wadded up when you guys did that goofy Honda-taking-over web advert last year, and was glad when you created a "sponsor" status for them. But overall my experience with Vimeo has been terrific.

i think you need five for it to work correctly
BRAINS ships with ALL necessary cables for expansion to either 1 or 2 Pressure Points.

The CHAIN cable is only needed for CHAINing 2 or more Pressure Points WITHOUT a BRAINS.

Cheers,

Tony
So just to be clear, with the chain cable and a Brains, it's possible to use 4 PP's with Brains
No, the CHAIN cable as a Pressure Points accessory has nothing to do with BRAINS. The CHAIN connector (on backside of the Pressure Points PCB) IS used for expansion with BRAINS when 2 Pressure Points are CHAINED to create an 8 stage sequencer, but the cable needed do that is included with BRAINS.

If you want to make a 16 key controller out of 4 Pressure Points, grab a CHAIN cable. If you want to expand the capabilities of one or two Pressure Points to include sequencing, get a BRAINS.

Maximum number Pressure Points that may be expanded with BRAINS is 2, minimum number is 1.

You will be surprised how useful the 4 stage sequencer is... I know I was.

T
I have to say, I'm really disappointed by the lack of support for four Pressure Points with Brains. I bought four as I was led to believe via the website that with the chain cable and the "forthcoming Points expander" I'd have a 16 step sequencer, and was so fucking excited. May I ask why the expander won't work with four, and are there any plans for another expander that would allow 16 channel sequencing for the pressure points. It's sooo close to being perfect!
I agree I was hoping that the expander would work as a 16 step seq. Bit of a let down.

Dudes get an a-151. You get up to 24 steps that way (or 32 with 8 of the steps repeated if you mult one of the points' outs. For that matter get an a-152 and do the same kind of thing for 64 steps).

With an obvious risk of sounding thick-headed: I think this one needs to be tried out. Either it will change the way you use your modular, or you'll just sell it. (I just ordered PP + Brains from Schneiders to try out.)

And thanks for making the best webbapp ever for us!

I'm strongly considering rearranging my rig
and getting one of those Tip Top cases w/
PPs/Brains on the bottom.

A 9U compact synth.

The challenge is determining which ones to
move over...

Back to MODSIM, my favorite game ever!

is it just me or would it not make more sense for Brains to be on the far right hand side?

Left side makes more sense since it would be closer to step #1.

At least that is following the standard mixer-style left>right signal flow paradigm

I think you'd want the seq switch on the right side, though, since the last stage is what's getting plugged into it. At least that's how I'm planning to do mines.

I think we should all put them above the pressure points and mount them sideways.
Perfect compromise.

The manual suggests the left side, so I'm going to start with that. Seems like if you're going to position a switch like the a-151 in proximity you'd want that on the right since the three row's outs will just pop directly over into it, as well as the gate out at the end of the sequence to advance it.

When used along with the CLocK IN, a secondary sequence will be initiated whenever Pressure Points is touched, where the length and timing is determined by the relationship of the Touch-CLocK to the Master CLocK. Even divisions of the Master CLocK will produce tame variations of the main sequence. Non-Synchronized clocks will produce???
Will this allow for polyrhythms or is it more like a swing? (Or am I totally missing the point here - or can it do both?)

Analog sequencing n00b here trying to wrap my head around the brains :hihi:
