As far as "pure" electronic music goes, there is no one like RDJ to me. I do think he is one of the only people creating some truly memorable works that will stand the test of time decades from now, in the same way the jazz pioneers did on their instruments.
All good... I agree that AFX has a 'thing' that could even be like Bach, won't be around to find out, though.
You put all that very well... better than my mostly-faux indignation.
I'm an OK musician/composer (more of an improviser though, really), but as an engineer and occasional producer (record/album more than EM/DJ-type), I've got to work with people way better than me as players/writers (even complete unknowns that leave me in the dirt, also a few with fame that are more entertainer than accomplished).
Love P. to de L. and J. McL., too... but, Miles stands alone (got to work with a bass player that met him and that actually sat in with the Jimi H. when he, Jeff J., was a kid).
Before Jeff met Miles, he was playing with Philly Joe Jones who took Jeff to meet Miles, who told PJJ 'to leave the white guy outside.'
Jeff got us hooked on snuff recording a record (a thing in the Paris scene that he was involved in the later parts of, I guess... talked about 'cats with their nasty snuff rags').
Etc.

that!" I look at the panel graphics for just about any MakeNoise Eurorack module and think "Man, what a pain-in-the-ass it must be to figure out what the fuck that thing does", which is also my gut reaction when I see a baritone or bass saxophone (also a contrabassoon, for that matter). They just look intimidatingly complicated to me.
And please, let's skip all those tired old drummer jokes. I've been hearing 'em all since you were just a youngin'. (Unless you're an old fart like me, in which case I owe it to you to cut you some slack.

Fair enough, Hsosdrum... I love pretty much all woodwinds, though.
Played bari in high school jazz and marching band, but main instrument is...
wait for it...
yeah, flute (not the skin-type... now aren't all y'all ashamed of yourselves?).
So, that one tiredest of all abusive instrument joke limited-genres trumps any drummer, viola, etc. joke you've ever heard.
Anyway, I actually doubled on bari sax and piccolo marching... the latter kept in my uniform jacket pocket (freaked people out when I would whip it out, so to speak... yeah, I heard that over there).
Coincidentally, I work with the Native American flutemaker that started that whole double and triple barreled NA flute thing (not to mention having been one of the main forces that brought the basic instrument back from oblivion).
Of course, instruments with drone pipes, etc. are nothing at all new... anyway, said actual ridiculed wind instruments (I heard that, too... 'heh, heh... he said wind') have made me a lot of money... so, there.
All true... not offended.
