Kastle - pocket modular synthesizer
I just got mine today and I've been having a blast with it. This little thing is so much fun and has a weird character of its own, kind of like an angry little growling demon.
I hooked it up to my pair of Moog Mothers and it was jiving along with them, making little growling snarls in tempo. Lots of fun.
Would love to see more video demos of people using them, or interesting patching ideas, if anyone cares to share.

Just ordered one of these today along with a used Volca Bass for less than what the Moog Werkstatt would have cost. My girl and I wanted to see if we would have a good time with analog synth before investing in anything big. I'll post some of our experiments when we get the Kastle and then the two together.

Weird atonal but rhythmic experiment with the Kastle, in three layers.

Layer one: Rhythmic gating with Shimmer 'verb, wiggled live
Layer two: Phased and self-modulating drone, wiggled live
Layer three: Mono, dry, a modular trigger sent into the I/O port, then LPF'd with a tempo-synced LFO

i do not own a kastle, but as far as i know these are simple multiplies, i.e., just several pins connected together. That is: you can use them as multiple outputs, but not as input mixers.22tape wrote:So for the CV in/out-- Are those limited to 1in and 1out separately? Or can you use them as 2ins, or 2outs?
And I don't suppose there are mini pin adapters to get it talking to the modular directly from Kastle's patchbay?
as for the pathbay: there are such patchbay available, see for example this one: http://www.sound-machines.it/product/ns1nanobridge/
It is also a simple exercise to make a small pcb with such a patchbay. Even I can do one, if needed.

kastle 1.5 + folktek conduit / resist / matter + wogglebug + rené -> tascam 464 (all live, no edits) =

i'm really happy about how well kastle integrates into eurorack (folktek matter also helps with its 'dupont'-to-1/8 inch patch points).

4 track recording of 4 layers of kastle.
All through a fx chain.
This thing is far more inspirational to me than expected

I got a Kastle for Christmas last year...just got inspired yesterday to take a deeper dive into what could be done with it. Was really happy with what I discovered...so much so I ended up making a video.

I'm none the wiser for reading that, but it does seem to confirm the easter egg thing....

According the the bit of code you posted, the easter egg is dependent on the position of the knobs and the selected mode when the Kastle is turned on. The comments in the code will tell you what those settings are. I’ve played around with it a bit, and it’s definitely fun if you have a dual trace oscilloscope at your disposal.Muzone wrote:https://github.com/bastl-instruments/ka ... 269b14b6a4
