Diode choice on DIY OR Combine?

Hello, I am fixing to DIY myself a small OR Combine and was wonder what is the typical diode used for this passive circuit?

1n4148 or 914b would do the trick. Very cheap, easy to get. (standard small signal switching diode)

There's another recent thread on here with a couple of diagrams and schematics too.

Big thanks J3RK! How about for a passive voltage divider? I ran a search on this sub forum but it pulled up a whole lot of unrelated discussions.
