I spent five minutes creating a simple loop, grabbed it on my iphone, posted it on Facebook and it's been viewed 6,733 times with over a hundred likes and a myriad of comments and subscriptions to both my Facebook band page and YouTube channel because of it.
I may sound bitter, but I'm getting old so I guess it's really more of a cynical sense of humor.
I know that probably 80% of the attention and hype is pure gear lust, but there's also the less committal element of a CLICK PLAY for a MINUTE versus investing time in exploring an entire album.

Here's the vid I posted:

I could not find out what your lukewarm previous album release is but I quite like this little video too - aesthetically and music vise! It could have been even a bit longer... :tu:

Thanks - I didn't post anything in this forum about the album, but I did in circles that would typically be more open to it, plus my FB page. As for this video sequence being a tad longer, that's another draw to such vids, they leave much open to be interpreted so the listener actually gets more out of it because he/she thinks on their own where the track could go or its potential, versus a 5-7 minute completed track. As for aesthetics - ha... unplanned quick iPhone cam grab - I don't get it, but thanks lol.

Yes - both sides of each row are powered by the nicely priced Mean Well PD-2515 http://www.jameco.com/webapp/wcs/stores ... 2100857_-1

I've heard that this supply may not be the quietest, and someday may upgrade. But I haven't noticed any problems.
Good info... thanks!

Lol, No it was clear, I was just being cheeky.

I inherited the complete system from an older gentleman who needed to downsize and wanted to find it a good home. It came in a big box.
Image

It just needed a case and a DC cable (which I have on order from Synthesizers.com)
Image

Needless to say it was pretty overwhelming and I had no idea where to start. Now that I'm this far, I'm enjoying greatly and already planning more modules!

That's a very pretty rack for the modules! :tu: It's obviously going to be great fun. But I gotta ask: how stable is it? Do you worry about pulling the whole thing over by excitedly yanking out patch cords?

Raw sequence, raw b/w camera footage of machines, lights and your fabulous metropolis oscilloscope. Gave me a nice industrial/EDM moment that could have last longer without evolving in soething like a complete track... :sb:

DrTasty you'll have lots to explore in that system!

I rather like your existing bookshelf case!
If you are looking for more portable cases I have been very happy with R10UE-10 road cases purchased from Audipile following recommendations from here in the Muffs forum https://www.audiopile.net/mobile/RUE-Series-Rack-Cases
Price is reasonable too, if only it was in CAD dollars...

It's pretty well balanced since the power supply is mounted behind. But yes, I intend to cut some beefier feet for the bottom of it. Worst case I'll anchor it to the wall behind.

Actually I decided to make my 5u smaller as I'm downsizing my life to some big things outside of the musical realm. Either way, this weekend I'm gonna try to get my friend Rudy who is a hell of a woodworker to help me draft up an idea for a case.

I'm gonna make it 14 spaces long with essntially a 1u row at the bottom which I'm going to make a length of mults/attenuators/converters/ and whatever else I can fit in there. I want to make it out of nicer wood or do a better stain than before to make an absolute beast of a small setup.

I know modular is about going bigger, but I'm constantly feeling the urge to downsize what I have haha.

What is this "smaller"? There is a word in general use that is spelled the same and means a decrease in size. But that word cannot possibly apply in a 5u context, except maybe a repanel of a 5u module to euro. But I don't think that's what you mean.

:hihi: Well I mean you know like less is more sometimes!

I want to move out of the country and gotta start living and making music minimally because there might be a point where all I'll have is my "small" 5u. Or maybe even less haha. I just don't want to actually sacrifice my big knobs though!

I just made my 3 x 16mu case system smaller by changing it to 2 x 27mu.

You got my meaning exactly  Good luck with your adventures! I have this wonderful picture in my head of hitchhiking with a 14U-wide by 6U system slung on my back. And a bag of patch cords.

Clever! :tu: Though if she's anything like my Mrs. she knows exactly what's going on, and lets out an exasperated tolerant sigh in her more private moments.

Yep that's my personal dream, bag of patch chords, walking into saloons through out the country. It'll be like Modular Wild West movie. I guess that or like Modular Blazing Saddles. :omg:

I ordered everything I need to make a Yusynth Dual Balanced Modulator (Ring Mod) - won't have everything for this weekend, but hopefully next weekend.

On a side note for this weekend, I did unpatch everything to start over and made a self running patch on my dotcom/moslab that my wife said sounded like a nightmare, haha

that's always fun :)

Mainstream American consumers have the attention span of a gnat, and the intelligence god gave to a box of hair.

We all grew up on McEarth, we're insistent of right-now-dammit service and production.

The days of sitting back on one's favorite chair, grabbing a book (a what?), and diving in to some well produced and created musical artwork have passed. That ~human~ has become extinct, replaced by the MTV generation (flash editing, short attention subjects, et al)

Dark Side of The Moon would bomb today. It requires effort, and we can't have any of that shit happening 'round hyuh!

(you were saying something about being old and cynical? ... haa! .. touche`)

I'm going on a cruise this week to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. My only 5u plans are spending some extended quality time by the pool, playing with the Moog Model 15 app.

Wow! It's the weekend already. Good thing I'm building my phase-distortion module based on the CZ-1 chip (pictures over at viewtopic.php?p=2225268#2225268)

Also still understanding how to drive my modular from the Roli Seaboard Rise. It's subtle.

I'm hoping to get some panels silkscreened for a couple of CGS01 Sub Oscillators I'm building. I'm also going to try to work on some new sounds.

This site is a wonderful resource for ideas and techniques! Thanks to everyone who contributes!!
