If you mult the audio in to DAMP, isn't it just regular compression?

No need to wonder. Just read the info on the Make Noise site (or read this thread).

Interesting that the mk2 module has round nuts for the Damp and Control sockets, while the nuts on all the other sockets are hexagonal. mmm. Maybe improves the sound? Or allows a wee bit more space for the labels? Anyway, nice attention to detail.
Hexagonal nuts are used all around. You can make out the outline if your monitor has enough black definition. Once you see it, you can see how all the other nuts also look like a bright ring outlined in black hexagon due to the lighting, and you can see how the lighting has the black hexagonal tint blending into the black background on the panel.

Ah, I see it now, thanks. The resolution and contrast on my elderly Kindle Fire HD is not ideal for forensics!

Definitely on my list, now that I watched the video. Great additions to the original Optomix design.

Not really though, because streams can increase the gain as well. But it is cool.

According to the v2 manual, CH1 output is no longer normalled to CH2 input. This is a big minus for me - the mixing feature is pretty important..

Is the panel graphics wrong? The sigma markings still has CH1 mixing in.

It looks like channel 1 still goes to the mixer but no longer to the input of channel 2 (without a cable). Nothing is really lost.

Well, I just bought one last month. Guess I should wait till after NAMM, Control Voltage says their current stock is rev2. Does anyone know when they started shipping these?

I think it depends on the store? I'm in Minneapolis and stop in at Foxtone regularly. They don't have the new Optomix yet, but said they should in a couple weeks. Seems like a few lucky stores have already gotten the new version though.

Makes sense. LxD took on that functionality.

V1 hasn't lost any functionality since yesterday, so it's still cool and will do what you bought it to do :)

will be interesting to hear them side by side,,,, see if the beauty of the origional has been compromised or shifted

Just got my v2.

One nice upgrade - the vactrols are now on socketed daughterboards.

See this pic, old in background, new in foreground
