It's not really 100% complete without the rails and power installed but...
Laser cut 6U Eurorack cabinet with frequency modulated joints! The soot from the laser is pretty hard to get off. I'll give it a light sanding and coat it with polyeurethane. The only thing I botched is that it's approximately 1mm too short in the interior to fit the rails! I'll need to grind them down a touch to fit.

Looking good! Very happy to see the venting on the back. Going to paint it? Looks like ply, yes?
I've used polyurethane varnish on bamboo ply a bit, it turned out really nice after a few rounds of sand/coat/sand/coat/etc. Though on my more recent stuff I haven't bothered.

Zap him again! ZAP THE SONOFABITCH AGAIN!

Thanks guys! You can definitely expect to hear more about these in the very near future, now that I've got some skin in the game (those panels aren't cheap to manufacture!)
Panels and PCBs should be available soon, I just need to make some very minor final tweaks to the PCB and write up the build docs as I mentioned. I should also get a few more demos up once I've completed the multimode filter I'm currently working on.
It's a completely original design, using only discrete transistors (BC550, BC560, and a couple of 2N7000 FETs). The actual underlying architecture is a fairly vanilla sawtooth-core design, but reimplementing everything in simple discrete circuitry gives it some nice character (and some quirks!)sanders wrote:Just beautiful. two wave shapers, and symmetry control? excellent.
Is this an available design? modified Buchla 258?
