I realize I'm a few weeks late on this, but one of my most interesting synthDIY builds of 2016 was my robot Halloween costume. It's a quartet of 40106-based oscillators set-up into 2 FM pairs. Because I didn't really get too carried away with buffering the modulator VCOs the FM was somewhat weak. In hindsight it would have been better just to have 4 independent VCOs. I also had 2 LFOs from the same 40106 chip, and 2 4017 based sequencers driving the lights. I used an LM358 as a summing amp and an LM386 to drive a 1" speaker. All of this was mounted in a 9x13 cake pan.

I don't know how well facebook video links work, but here's a link to it in action:

I don't feel like dropping the big bucks on a MI YARNS so I made one of these... After having read the instruction manual for the firmware, I can already tell I might be annoyed with it :/

This might sound stupid, but I always thought at the back of my mind, "If I ever build a Source of Uncertainty, I'm going to call it 'Dunno'." (This is a good example of my sense of humour.)

Awww yeah.

Eurorack format Buchla 266 Source of Uncertainty. And it all works! ElectricDruid noise chip with this one. I used 0805 100nF bypass caps, mostly (one or two through hole 100nFs on there.)

Thanks,
those knobs are GSL10 type and I source them locally in Poland (but I believe sellers got them from China). These are the only 10mm knobs I know that are not extremely ugly and cost only 40 cents :)

Are they D-shaft or knurled?
I think they'd look great on a black panel.

finished this up last week, my first real DIY project and it sounds completely amazing!
took a 2nd day to debug my work but glad to have it up and running.
should have trimmed the wires much shorter, what the hell, but as-is it was not a problem.
works well with eurorack triggers so I will definitely build a second one soon.

Also, regarding the labeling on the panels... it looks like it was laser-etched. It also looks like the right edge of the VCO panel was too close to an edge of the lasercutter bed and possibly the head speed was also too high, and so the head didn't have enough time to stabilize before turning the laser back on, hence the wobbles.

If this was done by a commercial service it'd be great if you could name them so we know who to avoid :-/

Built a Erica Synths Polivoks VCF from the PCB/Panel/surplus russian parts.
Who the heck has 110k resistors on hand! But, that is true to the original schematic, so I'm not complaining.

Works great. Makes me tempted to explore some other weird approaches to voltage controlled filters.

built this BPMC Fluxus yesterday afternoon, it's a glitchy video processor with audio/cv inputs. completely bungled some of the resistors starting off but, lessons learned. this is the biggest project i've done so far and i'm pretty pleased to have finished it in one go. don't know why but soldering the power jack gave a really satisfying feeling lol
there's also an option for an added photocell control which i left off for the time being.

Today I built the CGS35 Synthacon Filter.

Sorry for the bad pictures, I have only my phone for pictures at the moment.

The design for this panel is obviously inspired by The Bad Producer's great panels. Maybe I will go this route from now on. We'll see.
