Seems like some math might be off in Two Bumps regarding the number of harmonics: "red" mode does sort of set harmonics to octaves only, but it's extremely buzzy and has dead spots (particularly with shape/slope knobs beyond 12 o'clock) Sometimes it sounds pretty great like that, but mostly not :)

Thanks for the update mqtthiqs! I'm assuming the FM attenuverter is still is not available for fine-tuning? I haven't followed the thread that well...

mqtthiqs,

Thanks so much man. The stock mode oscillator just lacked some punch with previous Parasite firmware, which kept me going back and forth, staying stock most of the time. This is just great.

thanks a lot, Matthias. Tides Parasite is maybe your cleverest firmware, and on Olivier's cleverest module!

wow I'm getting this and sending something of a donation through as I do it.

on another parasites note (and I know you've said that you'd rather not dip your toes in this one again) but seeing reports of downgrades to 1.11 from 1.21 for wrap modes, keyframer autoplay. do you think there's a chance for a stable version which has autoplay submode?

sorry to bug you about this...!

hugs

Hugs well appreciated accountboy
So you'd like a Frames parasite with the autoplay submode but with no wrapping around the Frame knob? I might have a look but OTOH the two features were quite linked and difficult to separate... can you bug me again in a couple of months about it if you haven't heard back?

heey! loool hugs and money from me anyday. can't believe you have added so much and actually... simplified using... so many modules!

so - I can't fully explain (or complain, as I've run into few issues myself) except this one thing with Frames: viewtopic.php?t=144084&start=125

so just keeping tabs on that situation where Parasites users (and I hope everyone of you did hit that mqtthiqs paypal button) were downgrading because in autoplay when receiving 0V there's still movement - I like the autoplay otherwise!

I just got around to installing v1.121.
However, is anybody else having the strange quirk that fine tune (the FM attenuverter) is working the opposite way around?

<edit> never mind... something must have gone wrong during calibration... recalibrated and now it's working fine!</edit>

Ok. After almost 2 years of owning Tides, it was the time to install Parasites.
Spend the whole evening trying to install the latest version, but I cant get it working.
Tried several cables, pc and IPhone, but no results.
The LEDS show a cyclic pattern, but after a few seconds the leds turn red.
Lowering volume doesnt work, the LEDS stay orange. Turning up the volume leads to three red LEDS again.
Someone had the same problems but has found a solution?

Currently trying to install the firmware but can't seem to get it working.

I get it into the update mode where all three LEDs are flashing orange. Then when I play the file into the module, the lights don't change at all. If I pump the volume they'll go red so the sound is definitely getting there...but for some reason it's not working. I've tried the FM knob at full left, center, and full right...I've also tried from both my audio interface, computer, and phone...any ideas?

EDIT: After trying over and over again I was able to get the cyclic pattern for like 3 seconds before it turns all red. and i'm only able to get that pattern like once every 15 tries right now :/ but it always quickly turns red.

Keep trying. I had trouble with a DIY unit, but if it's factory it should work eventually. Maybe try those in between spots on the FM knob.

When sending via your PC, did you try turning off your speakers and really boosting the volume? I found I had to set the volume extremely high in order to get Tides to catch the update. I'll repeat; turn off those speakers 1st.

Also, not a bad idea to just .zip them up when you're done updating. One morning I brushed up against my iMac's 'play' key after having left a Parasites .wav in a VLC playlist. Screen was asleep, and I thought my hard drive was fucking grinding itself into dust. About shit myself.
