NEBULAE Issue anyone?
I bought my nebulae second hand some time ago but moved places and had no time for testing . Now for the first time I can try it and it sounds very bad and behaves weird. First of all not always starts playing the files (I check the USB stick and it creates 3 preset.txt files with just a bunch of 1s) then when it does play it never plays anything like the original file. Looks like it's stuck on a grain or something. I tried cleaning the USB stick and booting again but it's very unpredictable and unplayable.. is it maybe the old firmware, or a specific mode I had it into? Any help?
Thanx

Oh sorry I lost track of this thread.. Anyway problem solved, was an issue about the power supply. I changed the modules around and works fine. Apparently it sucks a lot of current if it doesn't get enough Amperes then it starts glitching and looses it...
Thnx

Anyway, I found the granulation kind of jittery, does that help by changing th .csd file? I'd like it a bit more fluid...?

The beauty of this module is not instant. You do have to spend time with it. Get yourself a handful of usb sticks (I got a dozen 1 Gb for not very many pennies) load one or two samples - watch the lights; get to grips with the file loading principles, experiment, you’ll soon see that it's quite easy in the end - then play with the knobs. When I say play, I mean study what they do - print off the manual and have it in front of you. Note SMALL movements can radically change the experience. In the early days I was a little disappointed (I noticed a ‘disappointed modules’ thread names the Nebulae once or twice) BUT as I experimented the class and capability of what this thing can do becomes evident. I have ONE csd instrument on ONE stick – in this case they are flat metal key shaped things, which easily allows you to write the instruments name – simple. Some of these csd ‘instruments’ are truly amazing. I now have a module that can become a dozen different instruments at literally a touch of a button!
I've attached a powerpoint quick reference doc which might be useful. Its got an instrument per page that I keep handy when using the module.

I just bought a used Nebulae. I'm waiting for a big order to arrive from Analouge Heaven so I only have a few modules at the moment. Last night I decided to power-up the Nebulae and test it. Only had the audio out going to my mixer no other connections to the module.
Plugged-in the supplied USB stick and powered up... the main LED flashed back and forth between red, purple, etc... just kept doing that and nothing happened. Plugged the USB stick into my card reader attached to my PC... ah ha! all the samples are in folders, no samples in the root directory.... moved samples from a folder into the root directory, back in the Nebulae, power-up and wah la! working just fine. Had a blast just messing with the knobs and buttons, mangling samples,, awesome... can't wait to get connected to other modules when they arrive

Gotta remember....... FAT16, not NFTS when formatting a USB stick..

I'm not sure what it means when it just flashes red indefinitely. Maybe someone from qu-bit can help.

just got my nebulae this past weekend. and, for sure, you need to spend a day with it.. i'm beginning to really flush out the capabilities.
Quick question: is it fine to to switch usb sticks whilst its still powered on ?
to note: i've also noticed i can get away with loading about 50 samples, none more than 4sec long, turning the neb into a sweet percussion instrument as well.
i've tried loading 100 short samples to trigger, but it floats into the flashing abyss.
Really versatile and amazing module.... !

If you're loading wavs the extension needs to be lowercase (.wav, not .WAV). Learned that the hard way (even though it's in their documentation). You probably know that already but, in case you don't, just wanted to share.unau wrote:My module not has begun copying the files into RAM and it will not flash between red and white. And LED not turns off and Nebulæ will be not playing the audio files. (((((((((((((((((((((((((
I try any files. any samples and any USB(FAT & FAT 16 &FAT32)
Fuck((((
