Here is the result of the patch using Braids´ Vowel + Formant mode along with some modulation + filter + Valhalla-DSP. Additionally there is a Thomas Henry 555-VCO involved. Can´t remember the details exactly though.
First there are some bursts followed by an atmosphere created with the same patch using a different mode within Braids.

Here´s a new spooky one :ghost:
Patch is basically a by Clouds sampled + frozen part of a quantised + filtered VCO Coarse Sweep.
Clouds is downpitched in several modes and all it´s parameters are modulated by a Doepfer A-171-2 Slew Processor/Generator (thank you once again AAG :tu: ) and two Peaks in Expert LFO/Tap modes. Peaks´LFO are additionally modulating A-171-2 CV inputs and 1 LFO is triggered by A-171-2´s End output.
There´s also an Ultima Ratio Clockdivider + Tides involved. Happy crossmodulation ftw.
Clouds output is sent to Thonk´s Spring Reverb being modulated by Tides aswell, followed by Valhalla-DSP.
Bursts are created through inserting and pulling the cable from Clouds V/oct input.

Edit: Excerpts of the sessionrecordings have been arranged + often layered aswell.

This is my attempt at trying to create some spooky moods for this Earthbound cover:

Ironically it's not nearly as creepy as the other posts in this thread 0_0...

The OP's was genuinely scary :ripbanana:

Love this thread!

I loaded up the Nebulae with a few Chopin pieces played by Martha Argerich (finest pianist there is) and distorted the hell out of it/her through Gozinta and A-119. LFO controls speed and recall of sample. So not a fancy patch at all but I liked it how it might fit in some horror movie

okkoto - Nice breathing, quite meditative :-)

ST. - Would make a fitting soundtrack for a Zombiegame like Left4Dead. And don´t mind the less inhabited creepiness soundwise. Everything in terms of supporting spooky characteristcs is fine, so if it´s sort of a spooky movie soundtrack it fits, even though I´m indeed especially interested in sounds being creepy/spooky themselves, resembling creatures, monsters or whatsoever in that regard. :zombie: :woah: :ghost:

blund - This could be a very good one for a black´n white silent film like Nosferatu. :tu:

This thread is great, wish there were more 'theme' requests like this on Muffs. Here's something perhaps more frightening than spooky, metasonix r54 factors heavily into this (including that kick drum!) and it's all being fed through an EHX Metal Muff for extra tube mangling.

About a month or 2 after i had gotten my serge creature and quad slope, i made a patch that i swear said" im watching you" over and over in this really creepy voice-- i figured maybe my perception was off a bit so i had several other people give a listen-- they heard it clearly and were mortified as was i, yet intrigued...... Beyond weird-- but hey, isnt that why we got serge in the first place?

The other night I was messing about with Pittsburgh Generator (one of my favourites!) + Genxpander, Grids, two AR envelopes and Synthrotek Echo. It ended up sounding like an algorithmically-generated warzone, with bursts of gunfire, explosions, etc.

I tried to record it but upon hooking everything up I realised that the reason it sounded so brutal was that it was horribly abusing my poor M-Audio monitors. When I brought the levels down a bit and monitored the output from my laptop it just sounded like a bunch of boring FM pings and warbles :-(

Do really, really love that dirty, nasty part of the rate control on the PT2399-based delays, like Synthrotek's. Fantastic.
Zap him again! ZAP THE SONOFABITCH AGAIN!

Chartrreuse-J - truely like that haunting guitarvoice sound, overall would make a pretty good soundtrack for a spooky videogame.
