Post by ZenMusic »

Please respond to this ... which LP Filter do you use primarily (pick one) ? Which is most essential to you , if you only had to pick one?
thanks for the input!

I've been using and loving MI's Ripples in almost every patch for the past few months, but I just got an STG Sea Devils filter (NOT AT ALL skiff friendly!)
I'm excited to try it out. :hyper: I just have to juggle some modules around to make room since I can't put it in my skiff.

I loved the AM8109 JP8 filter. I had to get rid of it when moving to a shallower case, which is unfortunate now that I'm back in a deep case.

E440, without really a close second place. I love my MA-35 and SVF-201 as well, and while both are good LPFs I have them for their versatility, etc. For pure LPF the E440 hasn't had a close second (although supposedly the A-108 is supposed to be pretty good as a Moog filter?)

Don't know about most essential, but just got a Ripples to go with the Z2040 and I feel like I'm done for filters for the time being. Really nice. Very "filtery".

My only 24HP LP is my own design, what the rest of the synthy world knows as the Intellijel Dr. Octature. I think it's fabulous, but of course I'm biased.

I can´t choose one, I just can´t

But if I would have to, then I´d go with the MMF-1

+1 on the Doc Oc (from a less biased opinion). If I could only have one LP filter module, that would be the one.

I don't really have a go to filter because they're all different. They all add different flavours and each add something unique.

Do you want something general purpose? If you want something more specific it might be better to describe what you want from a filter and ask what's best for it.

So did you get another one? because I'm pretty sure I have yours :)

I also love the Dr. Octature, so many possibilities and it sounds great, particularly with resonant filter sweeps.

The other filter I really like is the white-knob Borg I. It just has a certain timbre to it I find quite pleasing and organic sounding.

Uhc
There's a lot of activity, a lot. There are a pair right next to the hydrophone, those are probably the loudest animals. There's one single seal that is on my left and it seems to be watching the mother and pup that were near the hydrophone.

Bionic Lester. It's actually the ONLY filter in my system atm.
