Nope. What we put on it is what it would have, for good and all. When I passed it around to the retailers for testing, here's what they said to me:

"It's one of those things that is hard to sell, but once people use it, they want one."

Obviously, for a mail order retailer, this is a problem. I won't make less than 10, though. It's just not worth my time. But it is a surprisingly handy little thing to have. I use mine all the time.

You can see it in action in this video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6rLddO4E0mI

Basically, the top knob is pitch (12 o'clock is root pitch, +/- 1 oct, but that could be more), middle knob is start, although since I made that video, we changed it a bit, where clockwise from 12 is start position, and anti-clockwise is reverse. Bottom knob selects the sample. In the video I'm sending the sample selector some CV from an LFO. You just hit the input with a trigger, and the sample comes out the out hole. Pretty simple.

(Also, I forgot to mention it in the OP, but since it will come up again, we've replaced the part used for the pots in these early modules; the new part has a collar, and the holes are much smaller; long story short, no "wiggle" any more. All Æverb modules use the new part, as well as _any_ modules we ship from now on; we are totally sold out of the "wiggly" ones.)

I think filling that drum module up with quirky digital drum samples would be cool. Like the Kawai R100, or R-50e. Something like that. I'd be into that for sure!

At $199, I'd buy one filled with cymbals, hats and snares.

I'd want one with Snares (processed ones that are a pita to get out of a modular rather than "classic" snares which can all be made easily) and hats and cymbals

I'd want one, too. No 808 / 909 samples, we have modules for those. More interested in samples not obtainable from synths. Maybe you could sell ROMs loaded with different samplepacks? Such a module would be really cool, with reasonable pricetags..

Back on the topic of Æverb. Would it make sense to get two of these for stereo or is the algorithm deterministic to the point where the output from both would basically be the same?

Also, this may be a dumb question but does the dry signal for the dry/wet mix go through digital conversion and back or is the dry signal the raw analog signal mixed with a processed digital signal?

To your first question, yes, it would absolutely make sense to get two. Listen to the stereo demo on the Soundcloud page, which is exactly that: two units, sharing only the input.

(While I'm biased because of course, I'd like you to buy two, I am actually answering your question honestly; it sounds much better in stereo.)

To your second question, yes, the dry signal is also run through the convertors.

For the Europeans, Funky Junk Italy now has Æverb in stock, along with all other AD modules. I'm shipping Æverbs to Post Modular London today, but if you're in a hurry, Funky Junk is currently the only retailer in Europe that has these in stock.

It looks like ModularGrid users don't like this module -- it's rated 2.8 / 5: https://www.modulargrid.net/e/audio-damage-adm05-AEverb

Anybody know why? It sounds decent to my ears in demos.

i dont know if id put a lot of stock into ratings of modules. too many trends and variables in euro for that to be a really solid way to identify quality. I'd also argue that if 5 is the best, 2.8 is a still above average rating if 2.5 was to be determined as middle ground and thus, average.

I don't put a lot of stock in it -- that's why I'm looking for more detailed opinions here.
