best deal in a eurorack module that I've tried thus far
Probably extends to all formats that I've tried.
This fucking lightplane is just great. What am I missing? $160 for this thing? Great feel, 3 dimensional, and it records.
Use some stack cables (or multiples) and send the x/y/z and gate out to different parameters, and it's just pretty wild. Takes a few seconds to learn, and as far as I can tell works great. I'm not bothered by any stepping (which exists in theory).
One prehensile tail UP.
EDIT: this is not to change history, but to provide a link for anyone who isn't familiar with this module, and is reading from the beginning:

I'm just absolutely amazed with it. And in combination with the modcan cv record, it's getting pretty silly.
I love control modules like this with multiple outputs, that you can route to independent parameters, making them somewhat dependent.
I'm very curious now about their forthcoming modules. Some kind of brain controller thing (wtf?) and some thing with radio in the name. I have not researched either yet.
But this is some good shit. And I must say, it's fun to look at the lights after I record.
now, I'd love a version that recorded more than 4.5 seconds....

what does this mean? What device is this referring to? What is "lightplane"Nelson Baboon wrote:Probably extends to all formats that I've tried.

just checked out that link - wow. 30 seconds of recording! Now if that is actually released, I will definitely be interested. I'm guessing that it will be considerably more expensive than the lightplane, though.Matos wrote:Well, there was that kick starter module that was similar in concept, but beefed up with all sorts of features. Maybe you can grab one if it sees public release.

I don't remember specifically, but I THINK that, since it records for as long as you hold your finger on the record button (up until 4.5 seconds), that would work. And I guess the proof is that after a recording, it sends out gate on/off messages.digidandy wrote:One question, however: When recording the finger movement, will it continue to record when you lift your finger? So that it records both gate open and gate close?
That would be interesting.
