A few months ago I found this series of heavy minimalist beats by Mick Harris (of early Napalm Death fame). It's not exactly "to study by," but it is pretty relaxing. Most of the HedNod series are on his bandcamp page:

The other day I downloaded all of the Morton Subotnick I could find. Since then I've been luxuriating in the amazing timbres he got from (presumably) his Buchla gear. I think my favorite at this point is 4 Butterflies -- here's Butterfly No. 1
