News:
13 Sept 2022: All versions back in stock. MSW-810 Sequencer, MSW-810 MIDI, and MSW-810 OG (CV/Gate only)
There are a handful of sequencer devices left; after these are gone, they will be discontinued

Hi there, just wondering what the MIDI update will be for?

Re: MSW-810 Monosynth (all versions)
There is a note priority issue that needs to be adjusted for legato playing for devices shipped last year as well as some other small tweaks (root note). Pitchbend will be enabled with the next update
Re: MSW-810 Monosynth (all versions)
I have serial number 019 of the MSW-810s. Guessing I need to do this midi update?

Thank you! I might need one of those as well...Altitude909 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 03, 2023 6:45 amThe update is ONLY for the MIDI verions (MSW-810M), it doesn't apply to the sequencer version
Re: MSW-810 Monosynth (all versions)
Does anyone on here have an issues controlling their MSW-810m via CV/gate correctly?
The root note played does not match the input CV on mine, so all notes are offset by (iirc) -5 st. I see there's a MIDI update for this machine but I'm not using MIDI (yet) so wouldn't expect that to be related.

Re: MSW-810 Monosynth (all versions)
Just received my MSW-810m the other day. Spent a bit of time playing around with it both MIDI and cv (no I did not check the tuning/scaling via MIDI , but there is a control and trim on the back, so I don't believe it'll be any issue).
First off - love the sound. A great addition to my SH-101 here. The 810 does exactly what it says - sounds great, sequences easily, a nice extra voice to add quickly to anything.
A couple of notes so far -- is there any way I can get a service manual/schematics for either the 810 or the original CMU version?
I absolutely love the sound of taking the Synth Out and running it into the Input 2 input.
Then, setting the Input 2 level to about half way and bringing up the synth level to start the overdriving. Being able to cv the amount of overdrive is also awesome.
What I wanted to do was swap out a jack and normal that signal path so that with nothing plugged into the Input 2 jack (or the synth output jack I guess), the synth out would be fed across to the Input 2.
The second thing is that there's an audible click/pop every time a switch is moved or the cv to VCA input changes suddenly. My guess is that the circuit could use some more blocking caps to filter out that DC spike.
The final (and maybe hardest to implement) would be to remove the phones output and insert a toggle switch or push button to allow the envelope to filter path Mod to be inverted.
Even without any of that, it's still a great sounding bargain and yes, I can get a short right-angled guitar pedal cable and connect the out to in and not touch any switches while recording, but it would also be nice if you guys could facilitate me doing those small tweaks.

There is no service manual or schematic, we just reproduced the CMU-810 PCB. Its the same circuitry as MC-202 so you can use that for a reference for any mods

Ok, great. Thanks for that info, and thanks for bringing this machine to life.Altitude909 wrote: ↑Sat May 20, 2023 8:10 pm There is no service manual or schematic, we just reproduced the CMU-810 PCB. Its the same circuitry as MC-202 so you can use that for a reference for any mods
