Re: STG Sea Devils Filter
My euro Sea Devil's filter is on its way from Schneiders and this thread has gotten me more than just a little bit excited to get my hands on it.bwhittington wrote:See my Sea Devils Filter on the STG home page:

How's that for 15 seconds of fame (for my module, at least)?![]()
Just for the record, the SDF is just fantastic. I know I'm hardly the first person to sing its praises, but with such a fun aural response, Its FM input and three CV inputs just beg to be plugged/modulated/abused.
Definitely my favorite filter. Thanks, Eric!
Cheers,
Brian
PS. Wish I hadn't used a camera phone for that shot . . .
[EDIT: If this thread is going to be lingering around this long, a more general title seemed appropriate.]

I've had it on order pretty much since I first decided to start a eurorack rig.

Shawn may be getting it confused with the .SHN ... the SMT SDF is still at prototype stage.nostalghia wrote:Quick update on the Sea Devils-expected next month at AH. Will be the new shallower version.

Thanks for clearing that up. Maybe he did mix up SD and SHN.
In Shawn's defense, he didn't exactly say that directly- I just assumed it based on the wording of his email reply to me (hopefully he wouldn't mind me quoting it here) after I asked when he expected to have Sea Devils back in stock, which stated "...STG is working on a new version of the Sea Devils filter which is more shallow. We expect them next month."
I may hold off until the SMT version of the SDF is available then. Do you have a rough ETA? Late 2013 or early next year?
