crt tube tv goes ~ after a while…

Post by Granny »

does anyone have any idea why my crt tube tv goes blank?

it's still on and glowing but stops showing my picture after some time, when I treat it with some video synths

when this happens I turn it off, wait a while, and it works again. but only for a short time

can it be that the signal is too overwhelming for the tv?

or might the problem be the tv only? maybe overheating?

does anyone with a little more experience with glitching analog tvs had similar things happen to them?

cheers

I'm not an expert on crts, but I suspect it's got nothing to do with the signal...

but it couldn't hurt to test it with a vcr or dvd and a 'normal' signal...

probably something needs replacing - if you're going to take a look inside make sure you watch some videos on how to first - you need to discharge the stored electricity 1st otherwise it is dangerous - as in potentially deadly, iirc
Modular Audio and Video Synthesis on Instagram

Utility modules are the inexpensive, dull polish that makes the expensive, shiny modules actually shine!!!

sound sources < sound modifiers < modulation sources < utilities

an oscillator is an oscillator - utilities are possibilities

choose the case to fit the modules - not the modules to fit the case!!!
