The length of the mod lane is linked to the length of a sequence. So for example if the sequence is 16 steps long. The mod lane is maxed out at 16 steps. Mod lanes can have a different length than the sequence though. It just can't get passed the max steps of the sequence.

Dang. Thanks for answering. This would be a killer feature but I understand if there are device limitations. 128 steps seems to be the max?

Yes, 128 is the max.

This is incorrect. Any mod lane can be independent (or not) of the main sequence, that means you can have a 2 step sequence at 1/32 and 8 128 step mod lanes at 1 bar, for example. Mod lanes are not maxed at the sequence steps, it's just the default behaviour as linked. You can unlink or change mod length in MOD screen, holding SHIFT + encoder press.

I totally missed this setting . Thanks for correcting!

PSA: new betas include:

- FILL trigger condition and an option on config to have PLAY button to trigger FILL.
- SHIFT + Load (folder icon) reloads the current pattern, that means you can make any changes to your pattern and go back to last saved state performatively.

Both tools are great to make variations or transitions non destructively.

Love the shift+load feature! Thanks Carlos

HOORAY! I have been working on finding ways to generate and perform fills, so this is very intriguing and welcome. Thanks again for being so responsive and thorough in updating an already amazing sequencer.

Just picked one up and I’m as impressed with the build quality and creativity that went into this device as I am with the clip of updates and beta support. Great bit of kit and great company!

I'm super keen on checking out the Oxi One, but like many people, have no way to actually see it in person. What are your favorite video reviews/tutorials/demos on this thing? I'm pretty deeply integrated into the Elektron boxes and workflow, so I'm nervous about spending so much money on something new that I don't know much about.

I haven't used elektron gear so I don't know what the difference will be like for you. Regarding videos, SynthDad has several good ones on the Oxi One, and I just watched this explaining the Matriceal mode which is lovely to watch and pretty informative. Of course there's the official Oxi YouTube channel with videos too.

Just don't watch the Loopop video. Mostly because it is very outdated, (it was recorded way before release). Secondly because he just didn't seem to give a sh*t and did a poor job. Note that Oxi One is up to fw 3.5.2 now, so try to avoid any really old videos as a lot has been added and improved since launch.

So would it be possibly to record in track-length automation lanes or would there still be some finessing?

You can play track-length modulation using the arranger to sequence patterns.
Alternatively, each mod lane has 128 steps that can be set to a bar per step. If your track is < 128 bars, and depending on what you want to modulate it can be possible to do with just one pattern.

Now I read the record modulation. No, you can't record modulation longer than 128 steps, unless you are ok losing resolution setting step to bar division.

Just came along to post that I'm a OXI One owner since today. I only had a quick test ride yet, but it looks very promising. Don't know if it has been mentioned yet, but the build quality of this little machine is absolutely lovely :hail: . Like with any complex musical machines only time will tell wether I'll like it or not. But yes: The first session was pretty promising.
Anyway: I already have a feature request :miley: :

An alternative keyboard mode for the multitrack sequencer: Currently when no track is highlighted only eight pads serve as drum pads. ONe for each sequencer track. That's a little of a waste I dare to say. Why not do something like this: Every vertical column represents another velocity value for the triggers of each sequencer. For example the lowest row corresponds to the triggers of sequencer one. The leftmost or the first step pad now represents a velocity value of 127. The second a vel. value of 116, the third = vel. 105 until pad 12 = vel. 11 (roughly. Just divide 128 by 12 pads...). And this on each horizontal row for each sequencer track. This would be a nice workaround for the lack of velocity sensitivity of the pads IMHO. In fact Akai's MPC has such a function even though it has velocity sensitive pads. It's called 16 levels (because 16 pads)...

Oxi One arrived yesterday. Kudos first of all to the Oxi team for shipping earlier than expected (was expecting early April) and for amazingly fast delivery (shipping notice received Thursday afternoon, Oxi arrived Friday morning).

I'm about 45 minutes in to playing around with it and it's quickly becoming clear to me that this is an absolute gem. Impeccable build quality and I'm finding it very quick and intuitive to set up. Currently have it sequencing mono basslines from my modular and chords & drums from plug ins on Bitwig. It really brings everything together in an immediate and extremely playable way. Love it already.

Since 3.3 (if I'm not wrong) there's a new keyboard layout very similar to what you are requesting!!

I second Synth Dad super helpful. Also the OXI one Discord. They post videos in there that rule.
