SY1 Replica DIY Kit (General Thread)
Re: SY1 Replica DIY Kit (General Thread)
Doesn’t hurt, I’ve got some small diameter shielded cable - should be easy to install.
Since I don’t have to remove all the hardware to get to these locations, I’ll see where I land on it tonight.

The best way would be to tie the shield at the sgnd terminal next to out 1 and2
Re: SY1 Replica DIY Kit (General Thread)
Kicking myself - it’s not osc bleed, just the expected noise from the 497
. Apologies for the confusion, not sure why i thought that.
Since I’ve got it open, I might add a bypass cap to signal ground from the 497 output and see if that helps - as is, it’s totally fine though.
Appreciate the guidance and super sick project!

Re: SY1 Replica DIY Kit (General Thread)
that still doesnt sound right, i looked closely at that and it shouldnt bleed into the audio.
Re: SY1 Replica DIY Kit (General Thread)
Good to know - I’ll try to go through it with a scope this weekend.
Re: SY1 Replica DIY Kit (General Thread)
Fixed it! I had ground and signal ground mixed up, stupid quiet now!

Ha - Even with those flipped, the power supply noise was still pretty low on my build, def manageable.
I checked Stereoping’s video outlining the noise issue on those versions and it was much more extreme than what I was hearing.
Time to make some tracks with it

1. Original I/O Configuration: The inputs and outputs use regular 1/4" Mono phone plugs:
Trig 1 In - Trig 2 In - Mute - Tune (via Tune pedal) - Mixed Output
2. Expanded I/O Configuration: The inputs and outputs use 1/4" Stereo to 1/4" mono to greatly expand the capabilities of the device. The Mod input is open for user modification
Trig 1,2 In - Mod 1,2 In - Mute - Tune 1,2 CV in - Output 1, 2

Re: SY1 Replica DIY Kit (General Thread)
Hi,
In the ibom for the main pcb, there is a 16b resitor which is 100k, but on the excell bom there is no r16b. There are 2 R16a marked as 2k2 resistors.
Which one is correct?
Cheers
Edit: Figured it out

Re: SY1 Replica DIY Kit (General Thread)
Hi again,
For the cv pitch mods.
Are the trimmers recomended in the mod guide for CV1 (10k trimmer) to Tune 1 and Cv2 to tune 2 (100k trimmer) the smd trimmers that are already on the pcb?
Is the smd resistor for Cv 2 tune, 47k, the one one this pic?
Thanks for your support.
Cheers

Re: SY1 Replica DIY Kit (General Thread)
Yeah, I prepopulated 100K on both positions on the kit boards before it was clear what was needed. 100K will be fine for both, just one will be a little trickier to adjust since the range will be large
added a note about that in the bom
