LED Mounting Help

Post by waldenpotato »

I am trying to figure out how to fit led lenses, led clips, and leds themselves to 3mm front panels. I've got the following parts for green leds for example:
- lense, mouser: 593-3000G, mfg: CLB_300_GTP
- clip/spacer, mouser: 593-SPC125, mfg: SPC_125
- led, mouser: 859-LTL-4233, mfg: LTL-4233

This is my first time trying to figure this type of mounting out. I'm having a problem, though. When I place the led into the lens and then attempt to slide the clip over the lens I find that it's very difficult to get the clip over the lens - it's really difficult. I am not sure if this is because the led itself is too tall or what's going on.

Any advice? Or is it supposed to be really difficult to get the clip over the lense?

Thanks.

Clip first. Then push the LED into the back of the lens with the clip fitted.
