@traffkin Could you explain how the 228e would work in a quad context - especially compared to the quad 227e. Could the functionality replace it?

in term of quad location, yes it could, but the control model is slightly different, although you still have proximity and swirl rate/direction.

To flip it on it's head, how does the headphone output sum the 4 outs. Does it do some kinda spatial processing to get from four channels to 2? Guess in other words, do you see the module benefit stereo applications as well?

i decided to make headphone output intentionally mono, so it's just a sum of all 4 busses.

and of course you can use it in stereo, just connect two outs instead of four
