Yeah, despite being late to get my name on the list, and being told the list was really long, I was pleased to get mine yesterday. And while it took 4, nearly 5 months from name on list to Enner in hand, they didn’t ask for money until they were ready to ship. Right out of the box I was having fun, and never really needed to look at the manual - it’s easy to learn it by just exploring, which is kinda awesome. Was a nice solstice surprise for sure!

Re: ENNER (prototype). A new project from SOMA laboratory
Had my Enner for a few days now. Ordering was easy and painless and the contact at SOMA kept me update throughout the process. Took a little over a month, including shipping from Russia to Germany.
It reminds me somewhat of a Ciat Lonbarde instrument, with its touchiness, dynamics and wide stereo sounds. So having a compressor and a stereo width processor comes in handy here too. It feels like it could become a bit of a one trick pony, but so far I’m enjoying it. My Enner is very prone to interference though and I haven’t found a way to power it without getting ground hum often (touching the piezo pads helps). The manual mentions this, but I have no idea how to fix it. A headphone output would have been nice too. But yeah, still an interesting, boutique-ish machine.
Here’s a first release, featuring multi-track recordings of just the Enner alone:

Re: ENNER (prototype). A new project from SOMA laboratory
just got mines in. first thoughts -
it is BEAUTIFUL. i hate light wood on stuff. i went with the Red Enner, planned to stain the wood darker. it's medium dark now though, looks way better in person than in pics.
i wouldn't mind the outs and ins being on the back. it's not a huge deal, i just unplug the in unless i'm using it. but even with low profile 1/4 cables, the in is really in the way for reaching places.
i don't know how this would work, but it would be neat if the contact mic and synth touch sections could be toggled on and off instead of momentary when touched. i haven't tried the metal conductive coin trick from Lyra touch points on it, i guess that is an option.
but so far, super fun and intuitive. don't understand how to do ALL THE THINGS it can do yet, but i get the structure without looking at the manual.
is.... is there a manual? seems like a box built on the idea of NEVER MANUAL BISHES HAVE FUN EXPLORING.

Re: ENNER (prototype). A new project from SOMA laboratory
Hi, here also Red Enner,
At first I selected the dark one, but I hate dark color wood like black, So changed to red.
I don't prefer the red color in normal but this red is sovietisch feeling and satisfied.
Interestingly, the Enner and Verbos Bark Filter deliveried at same day. Enner has stereo fixed filter bank with body touch patch, and the bark has also ffb with sliders.
Really fun and direct connected feeling during the play. Also some scary like Lyra-8
Pulse generator to audio rate has good sounding.
Also fun with delay out L to delay in R feedback, and vice versa with fading/ping pong. It is like delay sound alchemist to me.

Usually that “no/weird manual - now experiment!” is a fail for me, but with Enner I loved that I was able to play around and figure out 98% without the manual. There is a manual of sorts tho.

The graphic design reminds me of this work.

Does anyone know technically how these touch sensors work? Normal capacitive stuff doesn't seem to have the expressiveness these do. I'd like to build some basic capacitive CV controllers that only require a single contact and have expressive sensitivity like Enner. Where to start?

Has anyone ordered one of these anytime recently? Are they still shipping from Russia to the US?

Re: ENNER (prototype). A new project from SOMA laboratory
I just ordered one to be sent to the US. I'll pop back in the thread once it shows up and let you know how long the shipping process took.
I think I signed up for the preorder around two months ago fwiw.

As far as I know, the headquarters and production are located in the EU zone.Kingnimrod wrote: ↑Sun May 22, 2022 7:36 pm Has anyone ordered one of these anytime recently? Are they still shipping from Russia to the US?
Re: ENNER (prototype). A new project from SOMA laboratory
I’ve received orders from Russia recently for a different Soma item. Paying was a little different but went smooth, and the device was sent using Russian Post to USPS. It actually came quicker than an order from Perfect Circuit I placed a few days before, but I think I got lucky.Alexander Kuznetsov wrote: ↑Wed Aug 03, 2022 7:59 amAs far as I know, the headquarters and production are located in the EU zone.Kingnimrod wrote: ↑Sun May 22, 2022 7:36 pm Has anyone ordered one of these anytime recently? Re: ENNER (prototype). A new project from SOMA laboratory
yeah. as long as it doesn't get stuck in customs, almost any international shipping i've had is faster than non-USPS shipping within the US. because. like. THAT makes sense.

Re: ENNER (prototype). A new project from SOMA laboratory
It seems like postal is the least likely to end up in customs (at least in my experience). Chicago’s post office is a mess and I’ve had stuff take weeks going from one end of town to the other. But Russia? Portugal? Taiwan? Uganda? No sweat….

I know that they have production in one of the Baltic countries. There is a branch in Moscow. It seems that Russian Post works better than USPS.Ears wrote: ↑Fri Aug 05, 2022 9:45 pmI’ve received orders from Russia recently for a different Soma item. Re: ENNER (prototype). A new project from SOMA laboratory
I ordered an illuminator from the Russian office and didn't have any problems. Shipped via Russia post and took a couple weeks to arrive in the states.
