Absolutely. When I heard that piece it changed my life and listening habits (bye bye rap). It's also possibly the only 12' (I'm struggling to think of another) that I can happily listen from start to finish and be completely engrossed and satisfied.

He was at Uni with one of my best friends.

I’ll step out on a limb and say the most important electronic song is actually a sample: the Amen break by the winstons

I'm with you and have been editing that break for about 35 years, still not as good as Remarc or Dillinja but, I still love firing it up even to this day (I'm 53 years old now LOL).

On a more serious note, the music landscape would be very different if not for THAT performance break specifically.

The Hardcore (I'm talking pre Jungle here - Early sampled amen breaks - Dreamscape) I grew up on would not have existed and the genres it later informed would have been less angsty.

Possibly the finest break ever recorded (Funky Drummer, Assembly Line, Apache, Levee, Big Beat......)

Of course it is, Amen to that!
