Hi everyone,

thanks for the warm welcome ;)

Well, I have been there for quite a while and now it's time to set a more official presence as the community of Fred's Lab instrument owners is growing and Facebook cannot be the answer for support and discussions around the machines.

Hi Frédéric,

Nice to have you here and see the growing community around your products.

By the way, have you finished the ZeKit user manual already ?

Cheers.

Dear cp4700,

Thanks mate.

Well, i thought I could finish and release it on Friday but the PCBA factory called me and I had to visit them on a short notice. But I am on this.

Perhaps, an idea would be to create three general threads: ZeKit, Töörö, and Buzzzy at this point.

Welcome! I've been having a lot of fun with my Buzzzy - very useful as a compact companion to something like a Digitakt, which lacks polyphony. I use it as a sketchpad / stand-in for gear when I'm not in the "real" studio.

I like small synths. I am kicking myself for not grabbing a Buzzy when it was in stock at Perfect Circuit. I just put myself on the reserve list for Töörö.

Congrats to Fred’s Lab for starting an official forum.

Thanks!

The Buzzzy! will be back in stock at Perfect Circuit beginning of Mars.

Unfortunately, current temperatures in Germany do not allow me to paint the MDF enclosures so we all have to wait. But at least, this is not a COVID related problem.

Hey, welcome!

When will the Manatee be available for the public? :) Really looking forward to that one!

Cheers!

Hi Marcus,

thanks for your interest, I don't know for sure.

One certitude, the machine will be realised as all the main components are in my warehouse, in Germany. DSP, DACs, special ICs are all there for a first batch.

Also the form factor and UI ergonomics have changed completely, it's way more hands on, expect more knobs and more switches. I will publish photos of next / close to final iteration of the hardware design, probably end of August. I don't want to publish 3D renders, even if I have them.

The biggest question after will be cash flow for production. Most certainly Kickstarter again as it is the financing tool I understand the most and it has worked very well for me and the backers in the past even though it's not everyone's cup of coffee.

Let me know what you think 🙂
