Sleepy Circuits Hypno
I have one incoming - just dipping my toes into video synthesis and this seemed like an economical way to try it out.
I'm surprised that there's not much on the forum about it. Anyone have one?

Just saw it this morning! Holy cow this thing looks amazing.
Pre orders for March are all swooped up.
Looks like I'm settling in for a long wait :(

Re: Sleepy Circuits Hypno
Such a cool device. Alas, I sprung for a Structure, for all of the obvious reasons, but have my eye on the Hypno should I ever feel the need.
Re: Sleepy Circuits Hypno
Snagged one of these today, they had a few in stock which sold out in a couple hours.
They should have some more in a few months I guess, depending on the chip shortage
thing.

Re: Sleepy Circuits Hypno
I absolutely love mine. For what it is able to do, it's relative small size and decent price it's pretty freakin amazing! My only gripe is that you can't CV the color knob. Does anyone know if you can control it via midi?
Re: Sleepy Circuits Hypno
Pretty sure you can, though it might require a mildly elaborate setup via the usb hub they talk about in the sleepy forum.chupanebre wrote: ↑Sun Jan 09, 2022 1:45 pm I absolutely love mine. Anyway, I'm not certain, but there was some discussion there IIRC.

Problem is I usually use the usb input for video input. My dream is a new upgraded hypno with seperate HD video Input (without the need for a dongle) (current input is a little fuzzy and has a bit of lag (still amazing). HD video output with higher resolution. Seperate midi input. And more CV modulation inputs. A man can dream...

You can do midi and video in simultaneously with a hub to the front usb.
Re: Sleepy Circuits Hypno
anyone get the faint green light even after toggling the update switch on the prebuilt one? not getting any video other than a stream of code and the lights aren't powering on, even using a power supply that works for pi 3 on norns shield. any help is greatly appreciated!
*edit* solved! Just taking some extra time to boot on the new firmware!

Just ordered one with the HDMI expander. My first video module. Looks like fun.
