Re: Chirper!
Think it would be cool with some clocking/ddsr, dual envelope and lpg

Re: Chirper!
a reasonable price (385 Euro) for a chirper on German ebay: https://www.ebay-kleinanzeigen.de/s-anz ... 23-74-9436
just figured I would post it here since people are looking for them

Re: Chirper!
Here's where I've got to with it all:
- redid the whole PCB layout for the Chirper as there was a bit of excess crosstalk (may still be a little) & few minor changes
- addition of Expander header
- Expander has:
-- Digi Shift Register - like the DDSR but without recirculation, to generate stepped waveforms (0 to +10V)
-- S&H + White Noise
-- basic manual Glide (aimed at sub-audio slew rates)
- and, of course, a fair bit of switch-normalisation to the main Chirper, so the OSCs can do the clocking etc or you can use external sources.
I haven't quite gelled with what the expander adds or maybe I'm getting too quickly carried away by it
I'd likely put these in a 5FWx case with a Drive VCA to finish it up.

Re: Chirper!
Will the expander function standalone? Obviously I want that noise generator but don't have room for the chirper module

Re: Chirper!
Very nice and dense combo! Could be the heart of a great little performance kit.

Re: Chirper!
Are the oscillators in the Chirper the same chip as in the Compact VCO?
Re: Chirper!
Yes - they & many other designs are built around the 2164 Quad VCA chip.
They have the same basic triangle VCO core, though the CVCO has some extra trimmings.
