Harsh noise in the works - all modular

Post by Cybananna »

I was pretty happy about how this came out. It’s part of an in the works project but I wanted to share this part here because of the all modular nature of it.

The patch is as follows:

Contact mic>Sputnik Input >IDOW battery acid>MMG>Mixer

EMW Noise Station >Plague Bearer>Plague Bearer>WMD uHC>Mixer

Cyclebox 2>Malgorithm mk1>Verbos Amp & Tone>Mixer

Piston Honda mk2>Mixer

Various modulation

Modular Harsh Noise 1

I couldn’t figure out how to make it not downloadable so the stupid price is a place holder until the work is finished.

This sounds great. I like the brittle texture of the high end and those bits of feedback fighting to get in. I've never used a Plague Bearer, but I've seen people say a pair of them is great. What are two PBs doing in this patch?

Sorry, just saw that you posted. I’m using the two plague bearers to create the backing textures they are going through a LPF so you’re not hearing their sound alone. At 2:00, 4:58, and 5:20 are some examples of their rumbling. Anything higher frequency or feedback like is not the plague bearers. They are very good at adding distortion and don’t really behave like a filter but certainly adjust frequency content. I have 4 total in my system which used together are wonderful. The difference between using 1 to 2 is drastically better than 1. The difference from 2 to 4 isn’t as drastic as 1 to 2. But is is very nice.
